Shame on you Joph. Supporting those evil apps that are "boosting" Nabi's style.

(I hate these commercials, just for the record...)

I assume the soles of your feet are covered in rectangle shaped scars?

He actually has a Nabi. But he has no time or patience for the animated face (it only comes up twice a day, max) and skips right past it. We're supporting all that you hate!

[Edit: I realize the video I posted was for iOS but we're an Android family here]

So it actually has a face? I thought that was just for the commercial...

Now I think I hate that thing even more. Especially if it talks in that same voice. I'd try to smother it with a pillow or something. Just to hear it cry.

First time you turn it on in the morning, it does the "Red Bird" song. If it's still on when the time controls say shut down, it does some little "Goodnight" bit which isn't really a song. Anyway, Joph v3.0 skips past the former and uses the latter as reason to get upset that bedtime is nigh.

I was wondering about that. Looks like I should get it for our Kindle.

My little one likes abcmouse. Maybe we'll get her a tablet toy now that she's stopped jumping off things.

Stopped jumping off things? What did you do, remove her legs?

She fell down three stairs onto the dog who was sleeping and freaked out and ever since she's been more cautious. Also the dog doesn't sleep at the foot of the stairs anymore so it's like hitting the lottery.

We don't let the boy use tablets, we're essentially raising him Amish. He goes to sleep when the sun goes down, wakes up at dawn, and has no screen time. We just bought Hannah a Nook HD (85 on groupon!). She'd use it probably 100 hours continuously if we let her.

Yeah, both our would never get off their devices if allowed. Fortunately, the little guy just views the time controls as a force of nature and while he gets upset when it locks the device up on him, he doesn't blame us or beg us about it. He's just upset that it's over.

That sounds like the most boring conversation since the dawn of language.

Technically, I was flying the 3d printed quadcopter my co-worker got for his $50 kickstarter donation when the conversation came up. So not so much "boring", as "we can talk whilst buzzing people with the copter".

Interesting that you think this is somehow "less boring" because of the addition of a tiny plastic toy. I was reading the phonebook aloud and everyone complained, so now I'm reading the phonebook aloud with a LEGO FIGURE! BOOM, EXCITEMENT, BABY!

It makes me wonder how bored of harassing people you guys were that a conversation of that quality came up.

What are these mysterious time controls and which devices are they on?
