Recall that Plato believed in a "One God" but he incorrectly calculated that God was so far and so mch more perfect than humans that there is no chance of ever knowing any truth about it. There is truth in there but his view was lacking the notion that God is Loving.

Lol, people are always going to worship something so it might as well be YOUR god? What crap.
Let's get this clear. I know your heart is hardened against these things.
We agree that there are NOT many Gods.
I say there is only One God and that God is the one that stooped down onto His creation and became one of us and suffered as one of us to attone for our imperfection by offering all humans the ONLY way to stand in the presence of perfection.
We can't do it ourselves and we can't do it by any means other than the provision of MY GOD.
..and you say (I think) that there is NO True God.
So are you advocating that people worship false gods even if you believe that they are not real? Or are you advocating that the worship of any god whatsoever is an error that is destructive to society?
If that is what you believe then do you disagree with me that people (All people) will worship anything that they can find to worship that suits their fancy and that this "worship" fills the same VOID that believing in religions and superstitions fill?

I'm still undecided if you're simply trolling or if you went on some really bad trip that pushed your mind, cowering, into a narrow little tunnel with pictures of jesus on the walls.
Trolling is in the eye of the beholling (zing!)
I'm not on here to evoke bile and hatred toward myself and my views or to get a laugh out of watching people get annoyed. I'm here because, even though I have come to disagree with many views here, I still respect the viewpoints and opinions here and I know that what I have become is pretty much the antithesis of what I know many here to be (spiritually) therefore I know that I can count on people here to respond to me truthfully and without the burder of trying to be polite.
If that's trolling than call get me out of the sun.
If you really are curious my actual "bad-trips" (if you mean literal acid trips) are 18 years behind me but I had been into the occult since I was younger than these girls. Perhaps you see that as a result of my just being an idiot.. but I have never worshiped anything blindly. I explored every type of religion that I could find under the presumption that ALL religions were wrong because they were all made by humans.. Jesus included. It seemed logical that whatever the Truth might be that it would have to be something that I would have to develop on my own. You see, we worship ourselves by Default.
The false presumption that I made was that any Real God could never be known. I was wrong. God is there the whole time with His hands outstretched.. but like obstinate children we push the hands away and run off to play.
You call it a "narrow tunnel". What you see as a narrow tunnel is actually the prism that changes everything. It is the small keyhole through which everything that is Real actually exists.
This narrow tunnel is the escape from Plato's Cave. Catwho wrote:
Buddha wins. None of the various flavors of the God of Abraham are that close except for Jesus, and even then everyone's warped the words so that they mean the opposite of what he said
The a major flaw of Buddhas teachings is that there is no other providence given to achieve Nirvana other than our sheer will-power... and after all of that you still have negative emotions, get sick, and die. Unless you believe in reincarnation there really is no point to any of it and it really makes no sense.. considering that in Buddhism when you reincarnate you also shed your identity. Plus this is not a religion that is open to people are are of less sound mind. My mother isn't going to suddenly start learning to meditate for hours to find peace... but she may be able to simply cry out to God..
In the case of Jesus; you are affected and refined by God regardless of how evil you are or how uneducated or just how plain dumb you are. The water is free for all that are thirsty.. but first we have to stop drinking our own kool-aid.
