Beer and Burgers, while sitting in a recliner watching Avengers 2.
Rather go out with friends and then see the movie to make a night out of it instead of condensing the whole excursion.
That's literally how those places work. You eat, and then they move the tables so you can recline and turn down the lights. Drinking is optional throughout.
There may be some that work that way. At the Cinepolis, they have sliding trays from the side tables. You eat in your chair, and they serve you during the film. It's actually kinda hit or miss when it's done that way though because it's distracting to have to deal with the server while you're watching the film. I had a particularly horrific experience when I watched Guardians of the Galaxy where I literally was still wrangling with the servers right up to the scene with the Collector (so about 2/3rds of the way through the film). That was a bizarre series of events though and I got a few comped tickets (and reduced meal price) for it. They've gotten better. The last time I was there, they finally wised up to the idea of having you pay when you order (although they ask if you want to open a tab and pay later, which is a mistake btw, since that means they'll show up in the last 10 minutes of the film to settle the bill so you don't skip out on them without paying), so that the whole thing goes more smoothly. You're usually ordering the food while the house lights are still up, making paying easier. They're usually delivering the food/drinks sometime during the previews (unless you arrived and ordered late, or they were just slow getting to you, which happens sometimes). Nothing more annoying than the server showing up during the first part of the film with your food order, trying to position that on the tray in front of you, and then having to deal with fumbling around in the dark trying to pay your bill (and trying to have a conversation with the server about how much it is in the first place).
And then hope that nothing goes wrong. Like they forgot half your order. Or your fries are ice cold. Or they forgot your drink. Or, like happened to me, the cleaning staff accidentally plugged your chair into the circuit tied to the house lights and you lose the ability to recline (or un recline) your chair, which makes sitting up to eat difficult at best. Oh. And the server call button to tell them that they forgot half your order doesn't work now either. Oh. And when the other half arrives and is ice cold, you still don't have a server button that works. And then when he finally arrives with hot fries and wants to settle the bill, it turns out that he fixed the problem of not delivering your fries the first time by just adding another order of fries to your bill. When all that stuff happens in once sitting, it's not such a pleasant experience.
But yeah. Usually, it's fantastic. Honestly, most of the time now, I just grab a beer at the bar and walk into the theater with it and sit down in my seat. Saves a huge step in the process. It's strange, but it seems like they have the most trouble getting your food order out quickly if they have to coordinate it with a drink order (the kitchen and bar are not in the same place, which I assume causes the problem). The last couple times I did this, I had no problems.
