NEW MOOGLE QUEST!?!Follow

For a Santa Claus Hat. I WANT ONE!!! Anyone doing this?

Details if you need them:

1. Find the Moogle, who tells you what zones to find 3 children. This appears to be random, since not everyone has the same kids.
2. Find the Smilebringer, who gives you the item Kiddie Present. This person can be identified by the Santa Hat on their head. There is a Smilebringer by the chocs in Bastok Mines, and one by the gate to Sarutabaruta in Windurst Waters. In San'Doria the Smilebringer is by the gate to the Ronfaure in North Sandy.
3. Find the children in the zones the moogle mentioned. As you do, you will get a letter from each. Remember the name of the child who gave each letter to you. They have different names (the letters).
4. Trade all 3 letters to the Smilebringer, who will ask you which child gave which letter. If you get them right, you get a Santa Hat ^^
5. The Smilebringers are also vendors. They will sell you more presents. You also appear to be able to get new ones for free each game day.
6. Trade the presents to the kiddies while wearing the Santa Hat, called a Dream Cap. The bought ones give "joy to the children of Vana'deil. The EX ones the vendor gives you give "Barrelfuls of Joy". Not sure how thats measured.
7. Give enough Joy to the children and the Moogle will warp you to another nation for additional questing. This is a cool transport service if nothing else. They also tell you your "joy" level based on the gifts you have given. The highest I have had is Caravans Full of Ludicrous Amounts of Joy. Joy fame seems to diminish after teleporting to another town. This may be the only use for joy, but I do not know.

For a Christmas tree, you can get a rare Christmas Tree for each nation as a furnishing for your Mog House. The Tree NPCs are all in Port ____ of their Nation. In Bastok it is Tree Talker by the gate to the zone. In Sandy I do not remember the NPC, but it is an Elvaan near the Airship Travel Agency. In Windurst it is a Mithra near the gate to Sarutabaruta. Each NPC will send you to talk to a Market Moogle to get an item. The moogles are by the MH exits. If you are successful, the NPC will give you the tree. ^^ You may only complete this quest once per game day.

There is rumor of a Dream Cap +1, but no visual evidence yet.

is it your MH moogle? if not, does anyone know where it is in each nations?

THERE IS A DREAM HAT +1

i have it on me.... do the christmas tree quest, put it in your MH

then do the dream hat quest and buy some presents for kids (i bought 12 of the ones that cost 1.2k) distribute the gifts to the kids

then wait a 2-3 days (Vana'diel days). then go talk to your moogle in your Mog House. he'll tell you that he found a special present under the christmas tree... it will be called "special present". take it, exit your mog house and "use" that item while wearing the dram hat. you'll have a nice animation and then a dream hat +1 in your inventory

the dream hat +1 distributes ginger cookies

I have the Dream Hat +1 as well. I do not know if this is specifically what MUST be done, but this is what I did and it triggered the quest. After collecting all the trees, setting them up in my MH and getting the first hat I went and found every child on the Smilebringer's list (not just the ones I was given letters by, but all 10 choices when he asks you which kids the letters are from). This was somewhat easier to find kids being RNG with Widescan, and if requested I can scout out and give locations later when I have time. Meanwhile, the lists of the possible kids are for Windurst and San'Doria:

WINDURST
Windurst Woods: No kids at all
Windurst Walls: Chomomo, Komomo, Purakako
Windurst Waters: Hororo, Mimomo, Myumimi, Shanruru
Port Windurst: Arukoko, Paruru, Pichichi

SAN'DORIA
South Sandy: Authere, Blendare, Foletta, Leuveret
North Sandy: Maurinne, Taurette
Port Sandy: Artinien, Auvare, Brifalien, Miene

I do not have a list for Bastok, sorry ><. If anyone has that please post. Anyhoo, once I gave a present to all 10 of the kids in Windurst, I received a gift from under the Windurst Christmas Tree in my MH from my moogle. Opening the gift got a nice Santa Fireworks and my Dream Cap +1!!!!!

in Bastokmarket you have the girl in the last house. The one who asks for the sleepshroom.

One girl is standing on a bridge (a little bit closer) she's the one who asks you to wear special clothes to make you look beautiful.

There are two close to the thief mithra npc.

One is close to a tree near the fountain.

The is a kid galka on the top of one of the stores (dunno which house in particular though)

You have the thief mithra's daughter in a house downstairs.
And 2 kid galkas...(one in the street) another one upstair.

I'm really no good with remembering names and locations... ^^ I'll try to get there and note them down then edit this post right here.
