Just in case word goes around that I'm a bad and/or stupid black mage, I just want to explain something that happened today in Boyahda tree.

I was in a party and we had been together for a few hous. I netted around 10k exp in that time, and all was good. Well, I had to go at 9. I got a replacement and was staying there until he came. Then, the unthinkable happened, I accidentally cast burn on one of the mandies in the crab room. I was not paying attention to what I targetted. It was all my fault, and my whole party, save for the red mage (who sent me a tell saying that they had done it before and realllly made me feel less stupid), died because of my actions. I didn't even realize what had happened until I was eating dirt.

After the DRG and the DRK homepointed and disbanded from the party, the WHM and WAR made it out to be something I did on purpose, but let me tell you, I would never kill my party on purpose.

If any of you guys read this, I just want to say I'm sorry about what happened.

Yeah, Schultz. When I sent you a tell I was eating dirt with most of my party, along with my pride. You asked me to replace you in a party before, remember? I think I only do because I was starting a craft, hehe.

I think I did pretty well most of the time, though. Hopefully this doesn't affect the reputation I apparently have.

You shouldn't feel bad Luthien, seriously EVERYONE has done that. I've had my fair share of "F8 Oops" moments. Yeah, it sucks, but if you know the situation's gonna be bad someone should yell at the WHM to throw up reraise quick just in case things go foul.

But yeah, Boyahda Tree's a horrible place for that to happen, I remember once I hit a Blood Leech with Shock instead of the Processionaire... it was pretty deadly too.

P.S. The WHM was probably mad at you because they didn't have reraise up and was just projecting blame.

Dont sweat the small stuff. People do make mistakes. It happens, and if people get all worked up about it, ***** em.

I made my fair share of mistakes. Most recent notables where killing 2 (not just 1 :p ) entire parties in a subligar hunt gone bad. And climbing all the way to the top of Castle Zhaval Baileys <sp?> to find out the I actually didnt have the appropriate mssn active. Oh and i also managed to kill my friend on a RANK4 run on my other char too. Yet people still dont seem to hate me :D

Honestly, you should not worry about that kind of stupid stuff.

I did something in Bibiki Bay similar to this. I don't have Silence macro'd since I dont think I have ever really needed it until now. So our puller grabs a Hobgoblin Fscinator. For those of you that don't know, this is a BLM gob with a hellish array of powerful BLM spells. Firaga III, Flare, Blizzard 4 to name a few. Also, pre level 64, they are hell to try to silence. So, I elemental seal + silence.

less then 15 seconds later, I'm laying face down on the ground looking back at the chat log. I cast silence on a Cateblepos(Dhalmal). This then proceeded to off the entire party as the fascinator is launching thundaga III and flare.

I apologized several times and even offered to look for a replacement if they wanted me to, but they were cool about it and we proceeded to gain that back and then some.
