End-Game DepressionFollow

I'm at the time where I should prepare for end-game costs and preparations...

Several things why, instead of being greatly happy and excited about it, I'm very depressed.

- Saving up and farming/BCNM/Gardening my end-game costs.

- Going to coffer-PTs to skill up, and being expected because of your LVL that you're superman and can solo DS (Dude guys...I'm a BARD, the worst solo job!)

- Competing with other people in your job to the finish line.

- Hearing the same old "You've got to have the best equipment in order to be considered the best" lecture.

- Being pressured to have the best equipment.

/sigh.

I'm kind of at a point where I don't quite know what to do with myself either. Sure I can go out and farm millions for that "uber" weapon, or some other item that would make me the "best", but to what end? I think many people have lost track of how to actually enjoy playing the game, during thier quest to be the absolute best at what they do.

Currently my static is only meeting twice each week, which gives me a considerable amount of time with little or nothing to do. Most of my close friends have quit the game to move on to something else, most days I find myself completely alone in my LS. Lately I have just been sitting out on LJ listening to the shouts, joining skill up parties, or offering TH2 to coffer key parties.

I still have plenty of things left to do ingame, numerous quests, Promyvions to beat, rank missions to complete, and quite a few seals to use for BC's. My static is capable of doing all of these things together, however we are on such a tight time restriction with everyones schedules its difficult to fit everything in.

As far as having the best equipment....I'd say the first few waves of NA's to 75 had far from the "best" equipment while they were lvling. However, after being at endgame for so long, you are able to afford the luxury items while you lvl your 2nd or 3rd job even, while the people still trying to get to 75 with thier first job are just trying to do the best with what they have. Granted this is somewhat of a generalization and its not like this for everyone, but it does have a fair bit of accuracy to it. I'm content just playing to the best of my ability, aquiring the "best" items and such will come in time. I'd rather take my time and have fun getting these items than spending all my time worrying about not having them as soon as I can use it.

Anyways, I'm just rambling now, try to cheer up Arlenis, there's more to the game than just competing to be the best. ^^

I know how that feel. I am in one of the ls that are full of high lv who do end game activity almost every weekend. Some of them do have that you have to be the best to do end game attitude although they started end game with good to decent gear themselves.

However, they also made it clear that end game can be fun if you did it with friends and nice people. They care mostly about people who knows the strength of their job and play the job well.

Best equipment is great if you can afford them but I think most of us play the game for fun so cheer up, Arlenis.

I'm near End-Game and don't even have a HNM or Dynamis shell yet... I'm still a gimp without the Assault Jerkin and Optical Hat (I'm sick of the War Beret.)

Arlenis-I know where you are coming from, but I also know in getting to where you are you have touched a lot of lives through the game. I personally think you are the best BRD I have had the pleasure of playing with, and I have seen numerous comments on this board that would agree--YOU ROCK.

This may or may not help, but try to think about not just where you are, but how you got there. You are a true Hero of Lakshmi, and if when I reach end-game I can have so many who feel that way about me, I think I can be satisfied my time was well spent.

/Cheer Arlenis!

BTW Arlenis, we still have to attempt a all BRD BCNM 40. ^^ I bet that even if we get wiped, it will be worth it and lighten the mood ^^

Huzzah for buffs!

Id be more than willing to toss a orb away to see 6 BRDs go down on those little mandies.
