It's very easy, just don't stay in range, because it can spam a stun move that eats 2-3 shadows, and getting hit with it twice can mean getting hit with it 10 times. Otherwise it's incredibly easy. it spams it's aoe attacks, even if no one is in range, and it moves at normal speed, so it's very easy to kite. If you start nuking form 22' away, it'll use 2-3 attacks in the time you finish nuking, none of which will hit you, making it very easy. Took me about 40 min, 30 mins to get it to 30% solo, and 10 to finish it off with an lol81blm who happened to run by needing the accessories, using atma of heavens, and no cruor buffs (don't have enough cruor/time to waste getting it every single time i checked to see if it was up ).

Kiting it near the bastion place is best, though you'll probably mpk some people.

Apparently the preferred strategy is kiting right in the path of everyone doing the fame quest. That way you MPK as many people possible who intentionally weakened themselves for the quest. Is it obvious I'm talking from experience?

I'm quoting myself because it's pertinent to the topic:

Rog, RDD and I are theorizing about enhancing merits and Gain-spells. Let's just say that at 99, you have gear that puts you 2 skill away from another tier of Gain-spell (assuming there isn't a cap). Would it be worth dropping an elemental merit to put into enhancing so you have one more INT via Gain-INT (or MND, or STR+accession for melees, or whatever)?

Yes, this is just bullsh1t theorizing. Something fun to talk about while watching moogle spin.
