*sigh* He who hesitates is lost...I coulda had claim /cry

I've just been busy all morning on another game forum being accused of being a company stooge for simply pointing out the obvious. Much like the salvage ban arguments I remember having years ago. Ah, the joys of being opinionated. Still better to be hated for who you are than loved for who you're not...but I digress.

I now return you to your hilarity, already in progress....

Blasphemy! Nyquil is the one true religion. It allows your hair to feel. If you have hair, and possibly even if you don't.

I'm with you. I've got the cold from hell. I almost wish for a 24hr puke your guts out sickness then a 2-3 week long cold.

Yep. Instead, I got sick of it in just one day.

Harder fights against mostly the same NMs taken straight from Abyssea just given different names + needlessly crappy loot system = not only does it fail to hold interest, it never even grabbed it in the first place.

IMO the best reason to do Voidwatch is to open new teleportation routes (and best part about that is, you only need to just kill everything once to gain access to those). But nowadays, with Abyssea warps and anyone being able to unlock all OP warps from any nation with a little bit of gil and effort, even that isn't all that useful.

Not like Abyssea NMs were original, either. Mostly just reskins.

I don't really understand peoples' animosity towards Voidwatch. I personally enjoy it. After all, it's completely designed around what the playerbase has been asking for: no spawn timers, repetitive popping, anybody can participate and throw together a group, and the drop system is based around that with personal pools so there's no competition. I'm willing to bet that most people who complain about the drops are people who didn't bother to cap red and blue lights and didn't bother to spam the fight. It's really not that bad; I've gotten quite a few nice drops. If people think it should be easier to get the high-tier drops, they obviously don't remember what this game's drop rates and competition used to be like.

The only complaint I have that's even related to VWNMs is the obscene amount of cockblocking that SE did to Empyrean weapon holders.

Many of them exhibited behaviors that were completely different from mobs outside Abyssea, though, making them more unique even if using the same models. Even though he's a simple mob, there still isn't anything like Briareus outside of Abyssea, for instance. At least, until Cottus, who from what I've seen is almost the exact same mob.

I've tried it and gotten nothing but some cruor, potions, gems, and rocks for my trouble. Also, even for the groups that actually bother with this event enough to get good loot, people have already talked about the problems there; mainly the people who already have or don't want X piece of rare/ex loot continuously getting it over and over and not being able to give it to the people who actually want it. This type of drop system would be good to foster teamwork, but is utter CRAP if you're gonna rare/ex all the stuff that people will actually want. Walk of Echoes should have been enough to tell them this.

And yeah, I don't remember what the old endgame used to be like, because I never did it back then. Most people's experience with getting a Duelist's Chapeau was a year of waiting and/or drama with their Dynamis LS. My experience was going in there with a few friends and getting it on my first visit.

I had a terrible fever back in January that made me have some wicked dreams as well. I was on a Fullmetal Alchemist binge at the time, so I dreamed about FMA, but whatever sounds (people, TV, music, etc.) I heard while I was asleep found some way to influence the dream. I vaguely remember some kind of weird FMA/Family Guy crossover. Creepy.

Stewie = Edward
Chris = Alphonse
Peter = Alex Louis Armstrong
Quagmire = Roy Mustang
Lois = Riza Hawkeye

This would be totally awesome freakin' sweet.

It's kind of an inside joke. I was blabbing about how she only logs on once every 7 years (I just pulled a random number out of my head) and went on to say that whenever she does log on, it's only for 7 minutes (just reusing the same number)

In Avalon we do tons of VWNM's for the fun and for some loot and while we enjoy the challenge we REALLY wish SE would increase the drop rates and / or allow you to distribute them somewhat. We're talking less then 1% drop rates, not 20%, not 10%, not 5% but under 1%, meaning you have to do a fight 100 times before you get what you want. This is worse then Salvage.

So fun fight system, absolute crap loot distribution system.

thats not true at all, on average you would have to do a fight 100 times, you could get lucky and go 1/1, or unlucky and go 0/1000.

Semantics or some antics? Or possibly sum ant tics (counting the number of family Formicidae spasms)?

Personnaly, I am anti-semantic. Not to be confused with being anti-semite.

Crap loot distribution....agreed. I think MMO companies hire ONE person to write probability matrices and set drop rates. That person must be drunk, stoned, extremely sadistic....or a combination of all of the above.

I'll even wager it's the SAME person, regardless of the MMO maker. Who received his job training from Satan himself. And then tried to improve upon his training @.@ .
