Ended up being a PUG, and 4/6 of us were ex-Garudites; Kolvar, Ashtopcat, Cloull, and myself. The other two were Noddy (JP BLM), and the RDM's name escapes me at the moment.

Congratarulations! The fight is kinda random it seems, most people I hear complain about wiping a couple times but I went 1/1 without items, I guess it's just luck and proper preparation, glad to hear you got it done though!

Squeals of delight from my daughters as they tore through wrapping paper like zombies through brains. Never too many Dora the Explorer toys for 2 year olds.
Oh, and for me, a Chiptole giftcard (mmm, burritos) and a bottle of Chimay (mmm, Belgian beer).

Sometimes I think it's crazy how much I spend on FFXI per month, until I remember how much it would cost me if I were sitting at the bar instead.

I live in town dominated by college students and there's a bar on every corner. Because of such a large college population, New Year's is well known as "amateur night" by us veteran drinkers. As a result, I'll be having a few beers in the comfort of my own home.
Even if I did want to go out, it's nigh impossible to get a cab on New Year's Eve.
Ya im keeping it low key this year as well, going to go to a friends place (who conveniently live just down the street) and kick the **** out of a few beers, nothing hardcore, I am already not feeling well (been like half sick for 2 weeks now and seem to be battling exhaustion)so I need to take it easy since I am back to work on monday (yes 2 day hangovers are real). I will likely just smoke a bunch of pot and space out.

Just, if you must drink, at least have a DD or cab ready. Wouldn't want anyone to become another statistic.
Me, I'm spending mine at home with family. Sure, I have no life. But I'll take the love of family over having a life any day.
