One of my friends is talking about starting a new linkshell for new/returning players. Look for Rainheart on the server and let him know if you'd be interested in such a thing. Tell him Ralrra sent you.

One thing you may want to do is talk to the NPC Joachim in Port Jeuno to get Abyssea started. He'll start producing traverser stones for you, of which you will initially gain a new one every 20 Earth hours. You'll want to do this even if you don't plan on doing Abyssea for a while. Look for Chewzer's thread on Abyssea under the FFXI General forum to learn more.

Thanks for the info. Abyssea was running when i last had a bash which lasted a month or so, so I have 3 stones already and can warp to some of them.. due to work commitments as soon as i was getting the hang of it i had to quit, so im back to square 1!

So, I hear this is where the party's at.

Pretty productive day. Logged in, joined Abyssea group as SCH49, left to spend 12 hours with family, came back to SCH96.

Finished Apoc Saturday morning! Had some fun dinging into it, think I turned some heads in that abyssea party :D

Now to complete trials :(

Talk to the Moogle with the green pompom in Ru'Lude Gardens. You can quest job emotes for any job you have over 30, and you don't have to be on that job when you flag it (e.g. I've done all my job emote quests as PLD). He'll ask you for a specific rare/ex item, and give you a lv. 30 neck piece specific to that job. Get the item, trade it and the neck piece to the Delivery Crate in Ru'Lude, then trade the neck piece back to the green Moogle. The job emote will show up as a permanent key item, and the torque will have an augment on it related to the job. Then all you have to do is type /jobemote JOB, where JOB is the 3 letter abbreviation for whatever job emote you want to do. You don't have to be on that job to do its emote; I frequently do the DNC emote on PLD because it looks hilarious to see my Galka in full Creed gear with a pair of sparkly pink pom-poms in his hands.

For WHM, the item is a cathedral tapestry, which is dropped by Orcish Fighters in Yughott Grotto and Fort Ghelsba.
