The book certainly "enhances" the movie, as the movie left quite a lot of basic descriptions out. Maybe the director's cut will have it added, idk, but little things like the name of Elizabeth Banks' character are completely left out of the movie. As a movie, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't all that good either. I really, really tried to take the movie for what it was & not compare it to the book, but Rue's death was WAY more powerful in the book because you got to know her.
While movie Rue might be on screen for all of 10 minutes.
