Your first Anime purchase?Follow

DBZ episodes on VHS.
It was during that time when you could buy 3 (or 4) episodes on VHS from wal-mart for like $10. The episodes would then be on Cartoon network like 3-4months later. I have a complete wall of the tapes (one side would had a sliver of an image, the enxt tape would have more of it...). Now they are all coming out on DVD -.- (i Like DB/Z, its one of my favs)

I passed once, on a full Trigun set that was selling for like $50. I'm still pissed to this day I didn't buy it, as I enjoy the anime and manga. I've never seen the set again ><
Must have been like a one time deal.

Neon Genesis Evangelion, DVD box set. I look back now and see what a stupid risk it was, because it was something like $200 back then(I don't remember the exact price) and at that point in my life the only anime I had really watched was DBZ and Gundam Wing + Endless Waltz.

Forever thankful I did that though, because I'm now a proud Otaku ;3

Still haven't purchased manga though. Was planning to go to Anime Expo 09 this year and pick up some manga/anime/etc, but I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to go (big problem is hotel room costs, and no one to split with).

I actually bought three anime video's my first time and strangely enough, they were the first three things mentioned. The Tenchi movie with that black alien. His name was Kain if memory serves. I also bought Akira and finally the second Vampire Hunter D movie.

I had seen the first one on cartoon network like 18 years ago when they tried their first hand at late night anime. I know they showed the first Vampire Hunter D movie, as well as something called night of the living cockroaches. There was another one but I forget what it was called.

As ashamed as I am to admit it... Sailor Moon on DVD. >.> Manga was a little bit better, my first purchase there was Love Hina.

One of the macross saga videos(dvd players didnt exist back then). DVD wise, Tekkaman Blade/Neon Evangelion, got them at the same time iirc.

Manga -Battle royale. Deathnote is what got me interested in buying manga rather than just reading them at the shop ('~'*)
