To be fair, though, this puts us back where we started. Either it was just something Ginjou attempted to break Ichigo's spirit or there's something serious about Ukitake/SS, which is unlikely as they're seemingly the good guys and just GAVE him his powers back.

Anyways, point being, we're still back to where we were. Ginjou is an immediate enemy and must be dealt with, but why? The reason he's given is pointless, he's just a paranoid psycho. There's absolutely no story to be told as it stands, which is what kind of bugs me.

We still don't know how/why Ginjo was made a "substitute Shinigami" in the first place.

I'm going with... they made the "watch his every move" badge just for Ginjo because they already knew he was rogue, but after the Rukia/Ichigo situation came up, it was a handy way to monitor those two as well, even if nothing Ichigo had done actually warranted monitoring yet.

They might think it is for the best to monitor someone who in a month or two of being a Shinigami just about matches a captain in strength and with that has a ridiculously high and unstable amount of spiritual power. as some have already stated that is probably a pretty good reason there given the Soul Society's duty.

Right, but he hadn't done anything wrong (aside from "taking" Rukia's powers in the first place, which itself has a huge question mark since he is kinda/sorta half shinigami anyway and it was more of an awakening of a natural talent than anything else.) He took his duties as a shinigami seriously and responsibly, and wanted to become better at it to protect everyone. Ichigo isn't power hungry, and at his core (like all shounen heroes....) he's a good person. The captains wouldn't have pooled together their own power to give his back if they didn't seriously think he was a benefit to them more as a shinigami than as a normal human.

Whereas Ginjo probably started being a stupid head badass and plotting with Aizen to overthrow soul society, or some stupid plot twist that is up and coming in a few weeks/months.

It's not that he did something wrong, they just want to keep tabs on him. They probably feel like anyone that powerful should be monitored, just in case. This would only be escalated by the Aizen incident.

And hey, if he gets in trouble or something they'd at least know where he is to help him out.

476 chapters, and we have a title that accurately describes the manga as a whole.

So how many flash back chapters you all think we got coming.

Inner monologue tells us he wanted a companion, yet a while back he robbed Ichigo of his friends, pride, family and powers and told a shattered Ichigo that he was lucky he let him live. Not to mention he hasn't flinched regarding the death/captivity of practically his entire X-cution group barring Moe and Riruka.

Contradiction

On the bright side, I still like Bleach's art style and the fighting bits are fun enough to watch. I just hope Kubo gets his act together on the story in the near future and give us an interesting backstory on Ginjou and the overall story 'some' purpose again. (Of course not until Ichigo has to get his hollow mask out after nearly dying to Ginjou's hollow powers/mask. Calling it.)

Ginjou looked like an arrancar & may have even used their cero?

Bit Ichigo can apparently catch those in Bankai form now.

I think he's more looking for someone he considers an equal to him, something I doubt he felt for his former gang members. Combine that with a sadistic twist and I see it making sense imo.

I'm not sure that this fight is going to last all that much longer, nor that Ichigo will be in any serious trouble whatsoever. I mean, the Captains have left the field, I'm not sure about Kenpachi though.

I had to laugh at the line "From the very beginning he never changed." Because it show an assortment of Ichigo images from the past which reminded me of a collage of scenes from the anime and manga showing just how drastically the art has changed.

Sometimes I half suspect Kubo knows he's trolling.

Interesting how the captains' original plan was to kill both Ichigo and Ginjo.

They did get wtfpwned by the double whammy of him charging in and Aizen backstabbing back to back waaaaay back when.

Doesn't make Ginjo any less retarded. I'm not sure I got that right. He mentally raped Ichigo to try to make Ichigo argue with him?

I wish they'd show Kenpachi with the >_> face saying "Isn't that what we tried to do to Ichigo when we first met him?"

Good chapter imo.

Glad to see this fight isn't going to be drawn out endlessly, and I'm quite interested in seeing the pasts of Tsukishima and Ginjou. Surely there's gotta be something to them.

Riruka was living in Rukia's tits? Must have been cramped ...

Chapter seemed short for some reason.

Seemed short to me too. Glad it was over quickly, but unlike Blacky I have no interest in their pasts. Just let them die already.

Was it just me, or was she also controlling Rukia when she did that?

Possible, but more likely Rukia just trying to save Ichigo. Definitely something she'd do anyway...

Clicking through all the spoilers is a little tiresome, especially considering weeks past.

Can we just agree that this thread is a spoiler thread, and that all posts since the latest chapter release are bound to be about it.

Let's just agree that the latest chapter was not interesting enough to discuss.

Next.
