Finally got caught up on the last two episodes... Meatloaf had a cameo? Was he one of the cable news guys?
Overall I enjoyed the RHPS episode, but I do agree that some of the lyric changes were unnecessary. If Britney and Santana can talk about scissoring each other, i think "heavy petting" is acceptable. John Stamos' Hot Patootie was awesome. I forgot that he could sing. =x It's been a long time since I've seen Full House, but I gotta say he looks so much better without the mullet. I didn't mind the slight key changes in some of the songs to be honest, I noticed them but they didn't bother me.
I do need to get around to downloading some of the music from these episodes and the second half of last season, but I can safely say that I'm not going to go looking for the songs from the RHPS episode. It's kind of like how I felt about the My Fair lady song that Emma did last season, the original is much better. Which is kind of sad, because Emma has a very nice voice. They need to give her more songs. I really loved the Touch Me song too. It's my favorite from the musical.
The duet episode wasn't bad either. i loved Tina and Mike's song, I agree that it was very cute although it makes me wonder if that's really the best Mike can sing lol. Also, what happened to the other black kid? Having Mike get more screen time recently made me realize that the black football player from last season is missing. I definitely feel bad for Artie that his first time with sex was so bad after the fact, but I wonder if Britney really did use him just for his voice? I don't think that the argument that she ***** everybody, so why would she **** you unless she wanted something from you is a good excuse. Maybe she's one of those girls who doesn't get any love at home and so she seeks love through sex? I dunno, I want to give her more credit than the other characters do. Besides, we all know Santana is a ***** and will lie through her teeth to get what she wants.
I don't really see Glee as being anti-sex to be honest. One of the first episodes we saw Rachel join the Celibacy Club and tell everyone that girls want sex too. I think what the show does do, is try to tell people that sex is something you need to be careful with. If you have unprotected sex there's going to be consequences, and if you have sex with someone you don't care about for the first time (ala Finn and Artie) you're going to feel like **** afterwards. It would be nice though if they'd show a more positive example of what people should strive for though, I'll admit that. I'd be great if they had Rachel dump her ridiculous idea of not having sex until she was 25 and not until she's married, and have her and Finn have a really nice first time.
