OOTS's Odin has been slacking.

At least something is about to happen. Unless their strategy is to get more height and out of range, at which point I may throw a heavy object out a window in a fit of frustrated impotent rage.

Cept that I think they mentioned a few strips back that they're already about as high as they can go. It's why they have to go through the pass in the first place. Of course, this would also suggest some kind of double cross by one of the other deities and their followers. Unlikely that ice giants would be working directly for Darkon. I suppose that Xykon might have sent them, but that would suggest he's organized and somehow managed to guess that of all the different ways the OOTS could be coming after him, it would be a flying ship through this particular pass (which isn't even the most direct route to where he is. Which kinda leaves one of the deities that voted to end the world sending some ice giants after them to stop them from stopping "the plan".

Or it's a random encounter. Which, if you all recall, they want/need. What's the treasure type for ice giants?

Might have, but I never trust anything anyone that's involved with a production has to say about their product. Especially when it involves comics.

Though I'd buy random encounter. As long as something happens that doesn't involve seas of speech bubbles.

Hah! Reminds me of many as "Wait! I meant..." moment in various RPGs in the past. Usually followed by the GM cackling, saying something like "Too late, you said you were doing X, and so...", followed by much dice rolling. Good times.
