Pretty sure Roy isn't dead yet. Disintegrate would turn the target into a pile of ash if it kills them - he just took badheavy damage.

Only problem is that Roy was hit directly between the eyes. Semi-Instakill spell or not, even heavy damage to the brain should be fatal.

I had a funny retort to that, but then realized we were talking about Roy and not Elan.

It's D&D. Survival depends on the saving throw, and Roy presumably has a pretty good one.

Well they're boned until V's 24 are up, melees don't fend that well against Earth Elementals.

I'm not spoiler tagging because if you're reading three posts down from the new comic link without reading the new comic, that's your own damn problem.

Anyway, someone else said that earth elementals have a movement speed of 30' which would be the same speed as the remaining OotS party. So maybe they could just run in circles for 17 rounds until the spell expires Smiley: laugh

More likely, it'll be the return of V or a trip into the Snarl.

I think we're forgetting the Linear Guild still. I'm betting on them showing up and maybe helping out with the elemental, now that the gate is destroyed.

I'm not sure if it works quite the same in 3.5(or is it 3.0 that this is based on), but in 3.75 you can move double speed on a charge to attack, so that may not work unless they can abuse terrain to remove charge lanes.

You could do that in 3.0 and 3.5 as well, since a charge is a full round action (so you double move). And since Earth Elementals have Earth Glide even back then, any terrain shenanigans in a desert has to require large chunks of rubble since there's no plants to slow it down.

Silicon Elementals don't exist in D&D, the closest would be Elder Earth Elementals. As for the stats I'm too lazy to look them up.

It's likely Silicon Elementals have the same movement stats. Earth Elementals and Water Elementals both have horrid movement rates compared to fire and air, and I'm pretty sure it has more to do with actual bulk than anything else.

More sand than rock, I'd imagine it'd have a movement bonus in a desert. Maybe not in attack rate, but certainly from point A to B.

I would assume everyone has enchanted weapons (I'm pretty much sure of it) so I'd think the party would injure it the same way adventurers have always injured air elementals or water elementals or fire elementals -- hit it with your magic weapons.

Pretty sure Durkon was the one that enchanted their weapons for them. I don't remember seeing any of them with a second set of weapons.

Roy's Sword only hurts undead (so far), and you think the enchantment on the bow would have kicked in by now.

Elan's rapier is magical (+3)
Belkar has magical daggers
Hayley has/(had?) a +5 Icy Burst bow. But I haven't seen her freeze anyone lately so I don't recall if it was lost/replaced.
