I have something to get off my chest.Follow

I have been playing this game for a while now. And I have learned to get anywhere you need the support of others for many of the quests. This is a community oriented game. Now most of us post how bad the gil sellers are, how they are ruining the game or gaming experience.
Well there seems to be a new problem. Greed. It seems as more time goes by, there are more people demanding the best equipment available, are are willing to do anything to get it.
Last night I was helping a friend try to get his coffer in castle O. (cant spell it). But of course there are so many thfs running around popping coffers. I understand this but twice last night as my friend was about to pop the coffer a thf ran past and popped it and ran off. I sent a tell explaining that we just needed to get his af then we be off. Of course his response was i dont care, I want my scorpion harness. Now the main point of the coffers are tied to our af, and alternatively to get money. So coffer spawns again, and the same thf ran buy him a gain and popped it and ran off.
Now I am sure some of you have no problem with this, and to you I say go play a single player game.
If I was in the situation i would let the person get the coffer for the af. Its polite, its right.
Another incident, we were helping someone get g1 paper, I spot the skull of wraith nm, my freind and I grab him and kill him cause we needed axe for bst. We were the only really high lvls there. We get the axe and lot on it. The rest of the ls passes so we can have. Then a new member helping out lots on it wins it and says he needs for bst. Of course we not happy since we killed it. He immediatly goes to ah and sells it for 95k. I kicked him out of ls.
These are just two storys out of many. This game is about helping people, we need the help to do missions and other quests.
Please, be willing to help your fellow players instead of stealing, lieing and being just plain greedy.
I know, if I ever see these two people shouting for help I will do everything I can to make sure they wont get it until they learn the lesson, if you want help be prepared to give it.
Sorry for the rant, but to me this is the number one problem with this game right now. Everything evolves around greed. That is why prices are so high not gil sellers. They are easily defeated. If we stop wanting the best equipment at all costs and are willing to sacrifice sometimes the gil sellers will have to lower prices.
If everyone stopped buying archers for only a month, they will have to lower the prices.

I agree completely.

I had a friend the other day has now been permanently discouraged form NM hunting with friends because of something like that.

He was camping Lizzy with a friend, when this friend invites one of his friends to help. Well they get Lizzy, get dorp and after being told that the boots belonged to ym friend - the friend's friend lots and wins(My friend had lotted, and his friend had passed so the other guy lotted hgiher and won). He was then told to please give them to my friend. He responded with 'no n00b'.

I hate people sometimes.

I had a similar experience, I was doing Garrison in West ron. and there was the under EQ SAM. We went through the first 3 waves of orcs (I think theres 4 waves but thats not the point). Anyway after going through the 3 waves we die on the 4th wave. The SAM had die'd in the first wave b/c she didn't have good EQ. so she homepoints and waits till we are all died and lots on all the stuff we had won, winning everything. Later after we all HP we look at the treasure and there was nothing there so we look in the chatlog and she she had lotted. Upon asking why she did it she claimed that she hadn't. It made us mad but there was nothing we could do about it. After we disband the allience i think everyone flamed her for awhile and then gave up.

Ah you were in that garrison too? My buddy Coldbault was in it. She Quartermastered the loot. I think he was doing a Windurst garrison though, so maybe there were a few occurences this weekend, which is even scarier. When he told me what happened, I was really pissed, but what can you do? The treasure is gone, and I don't think the person has any intention of giving it back, never mind even logging in under that character again.

Yeah, people get me down too.

I'm debating if I'm going to quit or start leveling Bst. I'm sick of people being asses and or just sucking at their job then insulting you when you very nicely say "Would you mind trying _____?" or some other nice way of asking them to do something that will make things better. I don't even do it in pt chat, I send them a tell and then they flip out.

Oh well, such is life.

Yep people are incredibly greedy now. I mean sometiems you cant blame them...but they take it to the extreme sometimes. If i know who your talking about...not gonna use any names but that person has pt'd with gil sellers just to get a small profit. I dont play a big part in your LS Shuffles but whenever i have popped my head in i noticed he was a bit "Greedy" People (alot of time NAs) are too greedy for their own good and have given North Americans bad reps. I have yet to see a JP steal a claim from me...could be just me..i dunno o.o; but yes i agree people are getting too greedy. Hopefully they goto WoW and EQ2 ^^

Hmmm have to agree with this as well. More so than ever after today.

Was in Labyrinth of Onzozo farming Cockatrices as Sam/Thf. Naturally, I don't have a fast claiming JA to claim, so I'd just go around and Sneak Attack behind a mob and then WS or attack it. Now I'm sure most people that do farm with /thf generally do the same thing. It's also sorta a given that you don't go around like an A-hole and deliberately Provoke/Flash/Steal mobs that somone else is seconds from engaging. Which is what these two individuals were doing.

I entered the room with the NM Gob that drops Moldavite Earring and noticed they were fighting one of the many Cockatrices in the room. So I moved along and went after one that was nearby. I walked up behind it and started my normal routine. Third Eye + Sneak Attack + Meditate and was about 0.5 secs away from attacking (Weapon drawn and everything) when I see the WHM that was fighting the other one nearby use Flash and claim it. Luckily for me she obviously wasn't too familiar with how the game treats multiple claimed targets. After Flashing the mob I was about to attack, she changed targets back to the one she was orginally attacking (oops that made it go white again) and I was able to attack it. Didn't really get to me until later when I was working my way through the zone and the WAR she was with was mad claim happy and would voke anything that remotely moved near me and resembled a Dinosaur.

Anyways long story short; I understand the notion that "A mob is free game until claimed" but this sort of behaviour is fairly greedy/rude in itself. But, I guess if that's how certain people want to act and be known for... then so be it D:

Similar situation: I was in Bibiki bay killing' me some Urganites.. It was fun.. At least until this JP party showed up..

They started claiming every mob on the beach.. So okayt, I move to another beach.. I was with my friend so there was really no issue to worry about.. She was a BRD.. Until she disconnected. -.-.. I had run out of antidotes, and got horribly poisoned.. at lvl 70.. and MAN that poison sticks..

So I run back to the JP party, who I'd left alone, and try to politely ask for Poisona.. What did I get? [insert name here] Bursts out laughing beside Lenwei!

So I stood there.. Watching my HP fall 15 points at a time.. praying it would wear off.... Thank god one of my friends showed up and happened to have one antidote on him. -,- I had 95 hit points left. [Keeping in mind my max hit points was about 1300.] The fact of the matter was, they stood there and wanted to see me die.. And lose 4,000 xps..

Why? I mean sure, they didn't HAVE to poisona me.. But when they showed up and took the spot I was farming, I moved without complaint. I gave in to them, and tried not to make an issue of it.. And they were unneccisarilly cruel to me. [I am not sure I spelled that word right.. meh..]--- This kind of attitude is frustrating, but just something you have to deal with in the game.

Anyway, I learned my lesson about urganites that day.. And about the attitude of farmers.. I went back to beaucedine. [which in turn ended up having been discovered by gil sellers *CRY!*]

The greed is getting out of hand as well as the paranoia. The other day me and a few friends were trying to get Stroper Chyme for the drop to cheer another friend up who's had a rough time and really really wants the drop for his job. When we got there it was just us and the group that is always there. (Will not say gil sellers, since I can't really prove it). Problem was, not everyone from our group was there yet and of course since the other group was being rude, we had to use any advantage we had to get the pull. They had voke, our vokers weren't there. I had Carby. Another group came in to get the drop as well for their friend before the rest of ours got there. I guess they didn't like Carby being out and they did some things that were not nice as did we. This lasted for a whole of 3 minutes before I sent the one guy a tell saying that this is just stupid and that we should work together and not against each other. By this time the rest of my group arrived. They took the steps, we took the room. While we did not form an alliance so if they got drop their friend could have it and if we got it ours could have it, we did help each other with timing the pops and staying out of each others way. Both our group and their group were able to get a pull. Neither got the drop. By this time it was time to level so we left. But still, the morale is, work together people. There is enough wealth in this game to go around for everyone. If you feel yourself losing your cool and starting to be a jerk, stop, and think about it. Help each other out. Not just your friends. It doesn't hurt to let someone pop the chest before you if you are doing it for treasure and they are doing it for quest. Another one will spawn. No need to hog them. It doesn't hurt to share pulls on monsters that drop items you need. I always do this with kazham and rse keys as well as when farming Carby rubies for friends. I understand competiting and wanting good stuff, but the over competiting just gets old, quick.
