Hello fellow Ragnarokians!

I had an experience last night that I wanted to share with you all.

I was invited to a party last night in Crawlers Nest with my RNG. The leader was a guy named Malekiah who was a pretty cool cat. We had two SMNs and the exp was flowing quite nicely. I lvled to 36 and we were not planning on stopping. Eventually, however some peeps had to leave so we bagan to look for some replacements.

I asked my BRD friend to join and he agreed. The leader had a tank replacement and we were going to move on to beetles. Once we got to our new camp, I took a look at the party list. One of our existing members changed to THF which I assumed was to help with hate control for the tank. However he was lvl 40, 4 lvls higher than me. The tank was a WAR/RNG.

My BRD friend told me that the party was probably not going to work now that there was a 4 lvl difference and the tank was gimped. I agreed, but decided to give it a shot to see how it worked.

Well after a couple battles, the EXP was quite lousy and MP was getting used up every battle to keep our "tank" alive. The inevitable /tell came from the leader that I was killing the exp. I knew this was the case and had no problem leaving, but he knew my lvl so why the lvl 40 THF? Oh well, I thought, no biggie. My BRD friend then said he was leaving as well because the party needed a real tank.

What happened next, i'll never forget. The DRG in the party said, "Don't like it? F@&k off!"

I was flabbergasted. I said, "Dude! Why are you being like that? No one did anything to you. That was rude and uncalled for."
He said, "Then you F#$k off too."

My BRD friend promptly left only saying "Ok then. {peace}"
I said, "Dude that is really offensive. Good luck with DRG AND a bad rep."

He said, "Rep means sh&t."

Never in my almost year of playing this game have I ever met someone so mean, rude and offensive. This guy really made me mad and I wanted to continue the arguement, however I believe that is exactly what he wanted. I might add that 3 other members of this party, including the leader were in this guys LS and not one of them said a word about the filth coming out of this guys mouth.

In a /tell, the leader apologized and wished me and my friend GL.

A few points I would like to make about this experience.

WAR/RNG is not a tank.

Rude language and blatantly mean behavior has no place in this game.

Reputation means EVERYTHING in a game like this.

A persons behavior reflects not only themselves, but their entire LS.

I believe that the players name was Kluyasofuya or some variant of that. His excuse about the way he treated my friend and I was, "Call a GM if you want, I don't care. This is the way I am."

I would love your opinions and feed back about any of these topics. Thanks a bunch all and Good Gaming! :)

O.o Sounds like a real jerk to me. Not to mention just adding to the "DRGs are bad people" image with his attitude, which I personally take offense to, since we DRGs have to work hard enough to deal with that image without any help from people like him. ><

As for suddenly having someone 4 levels higher than you...*shrug* Sounds like he just wanted the most exp possible to me. Some people are weird like that. I had the reverse happen to me in Valkrum once while leveling my WHM. I was in a party where I was about to 14 and so were 2 other members when the blm left so he invited a replacement that was level 11. Of course when I hit 14 everyone got mad. Now, as a WHM, finding another party wasn't hard, especially not in that area, but it was still irksome that he invited someone so low, knowing that half the party was about to level. (Yes, he kicked out each person and replaced them as they hit 14. The leader was level 12 and just about to hit 13. Yes we were all giving regular TNL reports, so he definitely knew where we all stood.) Sometimes people are just like that. *shrug*

I do hope the rest of your day was a better experience. *nod*

I agree with you perfectly Grizz, I can never understand why people choose to act like that. Do they expect to make friends that way? And although he may not have had any choice in regards to who to invite, I think the leader was a little out of place inviting someone he knew was that much higher than you, and asking you to leave. (and really, was it you killing the exp?) I lead all of my parties now, and I'd feel pretty bad doing that.

Precisely. I've left an LS because I didn't want to associate with a small portion of its members.

Anyhow, it's good that these sorts of people don't turn up too often, and have little incentive to keep playing =P Cya round, better luck in the future.

All right Mal! Listen up! This guy is officially making your linkshell look bad and although you apologized for him, don't expect anyone to party with you as long as you bring your jerk friend.

"Rep means sh&t" is pretty arrogant coming from a job that already has a difficult time finding parties. Good luck now asshat.

That is so wrong -.-

The exp is not based on the lvl difference, and the only person killing the EXP was the lvl 40. Exp you get from a mob is based off of what the mob rates to the highest lvl (IT/VT, etc.).

The reason exp was gimped was because the mobs that your level of 36s could kill would only be T-VT to the lvl 40. Though if you wanted to kill the things that would yeild you more exp (VT-IT to the lvl 40) then the lower lvls (which made up the majority of the party) wouldn't have a shot at hitting this thing, therefore causing extremely long battles, and using up most, if not all, of the mages MP.

People need to realize this when they are making a party, and not boot out the low level people, just because they invite someone to high for the party ;o

Just some extra information I hope everyone can learn from :)

I've seen that Pattern one too Many Times, and From Playing Conquer Last night, and getting 31 Levels the First night, I'm Already a Fan :)

No Xp Breaches for a Party Spanning a Large Range, and No 'Gil-Sellers', as the Game is Free, and the Creators Sell in-Game Money on thier Site.

Sounded Odd to Me @ First, but If you Think about it, It's a Pay as you Please MMO. Not as Good Graphics, but much most Customazation (sp new word?), and a Much better, Solo, Party, and Social Vibe, to the Tedious Waits of Leveling and Questing in Final.

http://www.conqueronline.com - Different, but I'm a Decent Fan after 1 Night :)

FYI: Super Slow DL's off the Website, I'm Working on Mirrors @ Funtimebliss.com, and the installer Mirror will be un in a Day or 2... When the Download Finishes from thier Site :x

Exactly Genos.. I'm often amazed at how few people (it seems) understand how experience works in a party situation. It's not the level difference that makes the hit on the exp. It's a very minor piece of the whole. The main piece is what your higehst level in the party is.

Of course, I also get tired of people complaining about experience if you're not averaging 180+ exp per kill. ^_^ I, personally, have no issues with chaining 100+ exp mobs like crazy. Even 80 exp per kill, when done quickly, can mount up to 5k per hour.

It becomes obvious very early in the game what hurts XP. Anyone who has ever been in a party where someone levels and is too far ahead of the rest immediately sees a drop in XP for everyone else. This is why sometimes when someone levels, parties will boot them for hurting the XP. (I however will let them stay until their level is at least secure.)
