Static Party AnyoneFollow

I would glady be in your static. 29 WAR/NIN so as soon as u lvl up send me a tell. I can be on between 7-10 CST most days. Weekends i can play some more. Though we might have to get into a heated debate on who gets to tank. ^^

Well we will just have to see whos a dumbass then. I cant speak for Oth but I know that I certanily am not one. I have been told by many a person that my tanking skills are great. Personally i have not had too much experience as a WAR/NIN yet but im sure its not much different than tanking with my NIN. I HAVE lvled NIN to 15 tanking the whole time. I know that PLD are the traditional tanks, but he was a WAR before he was a PLD. You yourself are a WAR? Why you would degrade WARs like this is beyond me.

i'm a whm mainly, and in my experience pld tanks way better than war. with the pld curing himself it helps keep hate on him, and it frees up the whm a little so they can watch the rest of the party and cast some enfeebs and buffs during the battle. a pld with cures, flash, and voke generates a ton of hate... whereas a war only has voke and dmg to generate hate. i've had bad pld tanks, and i've had excellent war tanks so i'm not dissing wars as tanks as long as they know their job and do it well. a war/nin is preferable to me over war/mnk, war/thf, war/???... but i still prefer pld because after lvl 41 where you normally have rdm in your pt with refresh, pld don't need to heal mp and can participate in many skillchains. also that fact means less downtime and tons of exp chains and a very productive pt.

Hey Oth, I have a 26/whm/13blm(22) and I would be down for a static. I play everyday, and I also like to play every job. I am willing to static with my whm though as long as we have a set time and set number of days to static. I only want to static under those regulations. I don't want to be lvling RDM or DRK and all the sudden get a tell that we are going to static now, so as long as we can get times and days set, count me in.

Actually Utsuemi creates more hate than you would expect. Hate decreases by the mob doing damage to you char. Utsuemi eliminates that hate decrease. Also maybe wars dont have so many was to get hate but pld dont have voke now do they. They are FORCED to sub /war if they need voke. Without this exclusive war JA pld would be nothing. War is a VERY versital job, being able to tank with EVERY SUB, mage or melee. Yes you may not think so but a war/rdm can tank just as well as a war.

Oth was right This thread was for to make a static pt not to debate how good a job can tank.

Even though this thread has been hijacked, id like to say a little something about the tank debate.

I as a WAR/MNK almost always HAVE to hold back a little to a PLD tank. There has been one PLD that i didnt have to do this for and i was amazed. Other then that i can pull hate from almost anyone with the exception of a BLM whos chain nuking.
I can also take the tank spot from most PLD at least temporarily, if i wanted to just from sheer damage.

However, there is a reason PLD has the abilities they have, and a reason WAR/NIN or NIN/WAR have the abilities they have. Arguing about whos the BEST tank is always going to be subjective. If my party has a PLD, then i hold back a little till hate is established. My point is a party needs to work together to make it effective, and by creating competion the way you have (Zayaihaellis) all your doing is going to make Vapiant wanna go out and show up some PLD. It can be done, especially at lvl 26 or 29. WAR/NIN can take the hate easily from a PLD since PLD doesnt have flash yet. But thats not what party's are about. Its not a competition about who can take the hate from whomo, it is a group effort, to minimize dmg taken, and maximize exp gained.

I dont know why you feel it nesseccary to hijack a thread, to dis someone and there job, but it isnt helping anyone, and is only going to cause arguments. I would suggest reserving your judgment for someone who asks for it, and keep your posts positive and helpful. This type of behavior is really not helping anyone, and i would hope that you would want to help your community grow better, and not put them down?

2 WAR/NIN or NIN/WAR not only do fine dmg, but will out tank a pld anyday, since they will never get hit :0

who ever said i was dissing warriors? every job has their role, and some things they are great at. as you said, the tank debate is subjective. i never meant my posts to be put downs, as you seem to think. so before you place your "judgements" on others learn the difference between a well founded from personal experiences opinion and a flame. personally i think that if my post makes wars go out and strive to be better than a pld that it's a good thing, maybe it'll cut down on the population of crappy tanks(whether war, nin, or pld). i like wars, and i won't turn them down if they are seeking... but if i have a pld i want the war to be a dd/backup.

I would like to join your static also. I have a 26 MNK and a 31 WAR. I have up to date armor for both jobs within reason of course. Oh and yes my WAR does use a Great Axe and my skill level is capped for it. I also use food(which should be a given for melee). Right now i'm in the process of lvling my WAR up to 37 to use as a sub for my MNK. I can be online every weekend and at least every monday and wednesday nights possibly on thursdays and fridays also. I don't get home from work until about 6:30pm Pacific time and I can play until about 11:00pm. Just give me a tell if you need me. My in game name is Kalten.

As far as the PLD, WAR or NIN tank debate.....all of them can tank very well. I just went from level 25-31 this past weekend. I did both tanking and DD(not at the same time). In a couple of pts we had a PLD. In another pt we had a NIN/WAR. When we didn't have either....I was tanking. Now when we had a PLD(there were a couple different times that we had one) it was a given....he was tanking. Cause thats what they do....is tank. When they were tanking they did a pretty decent job at it(voke every 30 seconds AND cure). But i did find myself holding back on the damage dealing cause I didn't wanna take hate from him(my Sturmwind was causing an average of 160-180 damage in the SC). Cause thats not the smart thing to do. But the PLD was able to do his job cause the whole PT wasn't being retarded which allows him to keep hate.

When we had the NIN I was letting him tank(I like to destroy things). Now while the NIN did very well and I have no complaints whatsoever, it seemed like they had a little bit of a harder time keeping the hate than the PLD. Now please don't misunderstand...I have no problem with a NIN tank. This one did very well, especially cause we were working as a team.

Now as far as me tanking...I like to think that I do a very capable job of it. To be honest I have yet to have any complaints so far and I have received a few compliments. I'm a WAR/MNK by the way. I use every tool that i have at my fingertips to try and keep hate also. Things like food, voke, boost and using a Great AXE(I was doing about 50-70 damage per hit...lets see a WAR get that with a sword).

So basically in closing....in my experience all 3 of them can tank. They just do it in their own little way. What it all really comes down to is how the person plays the job. Personally if i'm in a pt with a PLD or a NIN i'll be more than happy to step aside and let them tank. That way I can turn on berserk and have fun dismantling the mob. But I do know that I will be called upon to back up tank or take over tanking if one or the other leaves. And I will be prepared for it either way.
