Hi hi it's our favorite topic! Gil Sellers and how they dominate the AH.

I make my gil selling insect paste to the bots. (real fishers level cooking to make it themselves) Usually, I can refill my mules' AH slots 2-3 times a day.

Recently, I've noticed none are selling all that well.

Then I saw that there were, at any given moment, over 50 stacks of paste everywhere, and prices are going down fast.

Granted, the corn region is now in Sandy control so regional vendors in Sandy are selling it but....

Could it be...?

Insect Paste changes prices quickly and often. I've seen areas control Aragoneu and, for some unexplained reason, Insect Paste costing 500 gil. Usually I'd hop on and start selling paste, but with my inventory often being packed I don't always get that chance.

What can you do?

I would suggest keeping an eye on the prices if you make money by selling paste. See if Aragoneu will be owned by someone; how many people are selling; how much it's going for... Not to mention, check more than one town. It might be 300 in Windurst and 500 in Sandoria. Most people won't make the trip to Windurst just to buy cheaper paste, and it's quite common the prices are different in different towns. Sometimes people are leveling cooking, so Windurst has hundreds of stacks. Sometimes, because of the quest and Rabao, Sandoria will be full of paste and Windurst will be almost out.

Using insect paste to make money is pretty easy; just like everything else keep close track of it and you'll do fine. Try to go where everyone else isn't.

This week sandy is not in first and no one has control of aroganeu (sp?) so millioncorn could not be bought anywhere except cooking guild...and I'm not about to waste my time flying to windurst to try and compete for corn.

Sooo, I took ten pots and sent em to my mule...planted some seeds, fed it some crystals...and what do ya know? Today I harvested all 10 pots and got 15 stacks of millioncorn total.

I think im going to be gardening my own millioncorn from now on, seeing as how this is the 2nd week where I can't get millioncorn from npc >< and hell if I'm going to buy millioncorn for 2k a stack from ah again!

the same thing happens with meat mithkabobs/chief kabobs if you keep an eye on conquest results...
i think your sales will be better for both (kabobs and balls) when they are in beastmen control, provided you garden... but every cook that wants to save money probably gardens

before i hit level 30 with my first job, i made most of my money off insect paste, by doing the same thing, muling off a bunch, logging back to my main, cooking more, then i would send more to another mule
sometimes i had trouble keeping up with demand, but it was nice to make a few stacks, level for an hour or so, come back and see a few K in gil waiting for me
