A bizarre gilseller incidentFollow

<Hmmm.> so I was totally excited by getting my AF2 and decided to just go tie up some loose quests. Got some royal jelly, then went to la thiene to get a lanolin cube. Decided to go to Ordelles cause I wanted to go find napalms hoping I could get a flame degen.

I'd never been too deep into Ordelles, so I just explored, decided to look up the stroper chyme spawns hoping I might get lucky while I was there.

I see a guy paralyzing and sleeping a chyme and walking away not doing anything else... I look on confused and keep going. I get to the other chyme spawn
and there are two others just sleeping and voking the other chyme. I get a DC fighting an elemental waiting for them to kill it so I can get a chance at another spawn. I get back on 15 mins later and noone is there... so I leave confused and find 6 people in the little room with leeches just sleeping and voking these two chymes, a pt of gilsellers.

Now, this pissed me off more than just the existance of gilsellers who make it harder for us to win our own items with some patience and quickness. It seems to me that they're gonna take a break, but they're not just gonna take a break, they're going to hold the the spawns so other people can't get the archer rings when they're not camping. So then there are less archer rings to go around, and they can push the price up a little when they do decide to kill them and sell rings.

In retrospect It hink I shoulda called the GMs, but I was busy, needed to go do stuff, and didn't have time to wait 45 minutes to hope for a GM reply. Plus they never seem to do much for me anyway.

Any thoughts on anything that happened?

I read another thread where someone had done this with a HNM. Although that PC was not a gil seller, the player (bard) slept the HNM for a reported 4 hours before grouping with other people to kill it. I bring this up because a GM was called, and he said that there was nothing he could do. It was assumed that the PC continually slept the HNM to better control it's spawn time. :/

Does anything else link with the chyme? I would have got other mobs to aggro on them while they decided to take their break. That way when they came back, they were dead. The bonus is when they die you can come in and kill the chymes. ^^ Sure they might catch you and report you to the GM but I'd spend a night in jail just to mess with gilsellers.

Yeah I remember this story, it was a Tarutaru bard (not of this server) and she wanted to keep it slept so that the kill would make it respawn in JP hours only because she didnt want Americans getting it. The HNM was Roc.

This is important please read what im writing.

The people you saw doing this activity are also combatting gil sellers in there own way. They are almost positivly people against gil sellers. I have read numerous threads on the main boards about people doing this. What it does is causes the gil sellers to not be able to kill them and get the drop. Stroper's are on 12 or 15 minute timers (i dont remeber), and by them taking them and sleeping them they prevent the gil sellers from killing and getting the drop and then selling it. It seems people think if they annoy the gil sellers enough, they will stop camping stroper, and this will deflate the inflation.

I dont advocate this, and im not against it, but before you try to mess these guys up, try talking to them to see if thats the case.

Im to the point now where we should send a letter to the Chinesse government and get these gil sellers locked up for practicing Capatilism yeah we could go to jail too but hell atleast we would get out and they would die and their children would die and all that stuff.......

when im in the cave I grab ever mob I can and just follow the gil sellers around with my huge train of mobs...... I've made them quit before, and since none of the GMs talk chinesse and those dim wits don't know how to call a GM I get away with it... just /t me if your in the cave wanting ro kill chyme Ill try to keep my train away from you..

Forgive me I thought about this, and I did not want to cause some kind of debate on nations. If ya wanna discuss it let's do it elsewhere please, and let this be FFXI. :)
