Ladies and gentlemen:

If you are invited to do a round of BCNM's with a group please adhere to the agreement. Irregardless of whether you felt offended by one or more of the party members it is extremely childish and rude to keep a big money drop to use on yourself.

Even if you desire the item (Erase for mages) do not ***** the whole party because of one person or even if the whole group irritated you.

Recently, I did a 6 man round of the Worm's Turn. Our whm had to leave before using his orb and the party leader invited another whm to join. This whm used his orb and zoned before ensuring the drops were placed into his inventory. One member was slow to pass the items. One of the rangers was a bit rude, but we allowed this whm to warp back to Jeuno to obtain another orb and we redid his round of bcnm. This was kindness on our part. After a few days we noticed that this whm's Erase scroll had not been sold, even though by this time 10 more had sold after the first two erases that our party had obtained had sold.

I tried speaking to this whm to ascertain if he'd used or tried to sell. He refused to answer my tells. I found out through another member that this whm used it on himself, justifying it by saying "1. He needed the spell as a whm and 2. He was offended by the one ranger."

I know myself if he'd mentioned prior that he would like to keep the erase if it dropped, I'd've had no problems myself. Three of the other members though I know would not have, as they'd've prefered the gil.

The original whm got into a pissing contest with the same ranger and this ranger then in turn screwed the whm by not sending him his cut of the orb that the rng used that the original whm participated in. This whm needed that gil to buy his own erase scroll and is still sitting on his orb as well.

Even though I did not have to, I still sent this whm 25k out of my 100k cut from the orb battle.

We're all in this together, let's not ***** each other over in what is perhaps one the best sources of income in the mid levels of this game.

This is why with BCNMs I have two suggestions:

1) If you are going to pool the gil, make sure you do it with LS mates or friends only. If it is some random pick up party then:

2) Your orb, your drop. While this may not be as profitable, in a pick up party there is a greater chance of someone ******** over the group for their own benefit. What do they care? you'll B list them and that will be that, won't effect them that much.

Hearing stories like this make me very happy that I have a static BCNM run with my LS where we pool the drops. Sorry you had problems, good luck on your next runs.

i hate the "your orb...." way. everyone does thier part in the battle and for ppl to get screwed because of bad luck is very unfair. yet i totally understand the trust issues in this game. my 1st, and so far only bcnm experience was a pickup party. we died the 1st run, i think most do lol. they were very nice and let me use the "only" erase that dropped. in return, i took it on myself to sell drops. i paid the taxes and then split the gil 5 ways between the other members(out of my own pocket before the items even sold). i felt really bad because they were so nice to let me keep erase then the drops only got them 15k each. i know i'm a trustworthy person. i've never screwed anyone over, or never would i. i'm planning on another run possibly this friday with a member of that original pt and will gladly be the auction monkey for them(i'll add a little extra to my split to cover taxes tho since i'm in it for gil and don't need any items to use). it makes me feel great when ppl feel they can trust me, and it hurts when they don't.... totally understandable though. bcnm can be a horrid letdown in your confidence in other players, or it can be a great way to show your good nature and great character. wish us luck and many erase/utsu:ni drops friday(hoping for each person to get 1 lol). take care fellow shivans, and strive to be as honorable as your heart can be.

rules are there and you have to accpet the rules. if you don;t accept it, don't join the group.

if you screwed ppl up, you might get short term benifit, but in long term, ppl will make sure every friends of theirs will know your name and words will spread. you might not be able to find another more BCNM and you will lose in long term.

Yeah one that's what happened to the whm. Not going to name names on the board. But despite the first whm having to leave the other whm shafting us it was a lot of fun. 90% of the time I have no troubles with pick up parties or pick up bcnm runs, but a good friend of mine is lvl'ing rng to 40 just so we have a staticknights linkshell static bcnm party. 2 rng 2 blm 1 whm and then any other job can come for number 6.

Went and did another run with Mooch the next night. Still owe 'em one run as I didn't have an orb at the time. We're supposed to be doing my orb this weekend I hope. I died twice on the last run. LOL Casting sleepga got pulled in, slept the half that had woke trying to run out the other half woke up killed me. Got raise after worms were asleep and Flayer Franz was dead. Soon as I got up, worms woke up and dead Papa lol! It was a blast. Made out with around 6 or 700k all together. Then sold 22 animas for another 250k that night lol.

Started woodworking with the gil profits, got to lvl 28, spent about 3 or 400k on it, but then sold another 11 animas yesterday at 16k each so ah'm only down all together 40k :-) lol, ah've been driving down the price of the photoanimas so that the shade crafters can make a bit more profit off of their craftings. Gone from 20k each to 15k last that sold. lol Farm my own memories 98% for fleeting and bitter 85% of my own farmings on rest of memories. 90% profit even at 15k sales price.

Take care everyone.

you see, there is a huge problem (and ive experienced this myself in both points of view) with doing "Your orb, your drop"/Orbmaster method.

ok.... heres my tale

1 of my LS dudes(relatively new) decided to create a bcnm40 pt (sprouts one), i was the bard, he was a drk. 20 mins later we got some random people. This was however, my 1st time doing a pickup bcnm pt.

My LS guy said, ok... lets play Orbmaster. I asked why? He goes: Well, some people cant be trusted. Indeed he was right. Anyways, all the people agreed and werent reluctant.

I won the lottery (highest roll 1st orb). we win and QMaster was on me. Erase dropped. yay! /praise 500k

afterwards, we lost 1 battle (due to unpredicted actions of mandragoras). I thought. hey, this guy just lost 40 beastmen seals FOR NOTHING!!!!!

rest of the battles we won, but no good drops. My LS dude said, hey lets just share this Erase. I didnt answer, but i needed time to think about it.

Throughout the whole way, we were all nice to each other, no arguments, everything went smoothly as planned.

Ok result was i sold the scroll for 500k, including AH fees and stuff and some handling charge (occupying 1 slot for 2.5 days), rounded to about 470k. Punched in my calculator and ended up having to give out 75k each.

NOW, problem here arises is that: I wanted to use the money from Erase to skill up cooking, now its gone. I ended up sending 60k to each of them, LS dude had no comment, 2 of em were OMG Thank You, you are so kind ^^, while 2 said- Hey, i calculated, ur suppose to give me 80k.. not 60k...
I said to myself: Hey, count yourself lucky already, i coulda just kept 500k to myself and crossed my arms and say- narh mate, it's all MINE.

What i see here is that there is a fine line between making friends and making money. Im ok with keeping 200k/500k. The problem of being sympathetic and applying strict rules are two different things.

The people who fought had used their time and spirit to help YOUR ORB win. Problem of corruption occurs when one gains better living standards at the cost of others.

Please, I want some feedback as in what I should of done.

I think what you did was great! As far as the reactions go, I would put those in my memory bank. For those that responded with a Thank You, I would put a gold star next to their name. They are obviously good people who appreciated the fact that you sacraficed your orb drops to help them. To those that whined about 20K, put them in the selfish catagory. It is obvious they are out for themselves. According to the rules set forth before the BCNM, they should have gotten nothing from Erase and should have been happy with what they got. Plus, anyone that can't figure out that there is a huge tax on big ticket items is not the kind of player I personally want to deal with.

I read these type of posts and it makes me happy that I have a static BCNM. It's like an ATM, need money? Just slip the card in and take it ^_^.
