Another Crazy Idea... by CrayolaFollow

We all know I live and breath Lower Jeuno ontop of the AH... as a person that sells things, I'm sure a lot of you understand how frustrating it is to see someone selling something you want and you don't feel like paying tax... and they're AFK ontop of it... Jeuno Tax Stinks! I find it hard sometimes to sell stuff a little under AH price on bazaar because the tax included makes it the same, if not more than the AH. Then I'm forced just to sell it on the AH ;;

So I was thinking, why not have like a Garage Sale / Bake Sale / Selling Bazaar event in an area that's big and doesn't get much lag where people can set up bazaars and stand around, and shop around and let the people come to us? I dunno how great it would work but I know of several areas around the 3 main cities that shouldn't produce much lag, unless millions show up.

You set up your whole bazaar and what not trying to sell your stuff. Even more so that you wouldn't have to worry about taxes !! If a city wasn't that great of an idea lack of willing-to-travel customers, could just do it outside in Rolanberry Fields assuming no one trys to MPK us.

I dunno just a thought, and even a catchy name like "Tax-Free Sale" or something. Maybe make it a monthly event, bi weekly, whatever and get tons of people involved and the word out. :P

I used to play Ultima Online and in that game you can buy Vendor Deeds and create a vendor to stand at your house so by passing people could take a peek and buy as they will. So I really made alot of gil selling my own stuff and not having to be there and could be farming more stuff while my vendor sold stuff. Thought it was a nifty idea. Any one have any comments?

Or you could all just explore some CoP and then use Tavnazia instead of Jeuno... and you still get all the Jeuno AH stuff...

This is true but alot of the items in Jeuno are only jacked up because of the tax. Example: It costs me 100gil to put up a 100g stack of something... catch my point? lol I sell alot of stacked items, even a stack of meat mithkabob costs me like 400g tax which isn't a lot, but its 400g I could be saving everytime I put a stack on the ah.

I dunno I was thinking about it lastnight and I think it would be kinda a fun thing to even make it an event. Maybe even have like stations like a kissing booth. /emote kisses <t>. for 10g :P lol I have so many crazy ideas -.-

I think that idea is great. Right before I quit Asheron's Call, they added a new command, /market. Which warped you to a new area where all there was were bazaars, just like a mall. I believe that Playonline should take this idea a just creat a new area for this on the next expansion. For now I really dont think it will work just cause the only places i can think of putting this would be outside one of the main cities (example - East Sarutabaruta) but of course it would be bad because for this we would need an area centered from all the cities. And I could see a problem even in ESB. I mean most bazaars are lvl 1, i could just see a train of yags coming in. All and all i see just waiting till they add a new area.

Location: I was thinking Windurst Waters on the culinery docks. I always see it bare and its just so peaceful.

Location: Bastok Mines somewhere

Location: Sandy around the fountain in North.

Location: Windurst on top of the auction house in walls :P

You could compare prices even being in a city (comparing to AH) anyone interested in doing it, I'm up for it. Gotta get the word out and make a countdown to the day time of excitement :P

what are you complaining about? high tax is an excuse especially for cook like you. do you know a stack of mithkabob needed 505g to put on AH before patch?

now you only pay for 400g and you sell a lot higher. wake up silly. the patch is a good deal for cooking, crystals and things that don't cost a lot. cooks shouldn't complain because you actually pay less tax after patch most of the time!

Just commented to a friend over the weekend, after looking to sell some things in the AH and the tax was as much as the item, that I wished there could be something like a 'flea market' for all those items that ppl needed to get rid of! I have more 'junk' in my inventory.....great idea!
