Is it just me, or all lvl70+ in a hurry to do things? (rant)Follow

This is my rant on my attempt to get Rank 10, and why I'm still rank 9, and just venting my frustration at a couple of ppl who abandoned us.

In the last couple of weeks, the bastok members of my LS have made a push to get Rank 9 (4 of us), and so we decided to get Rank 10.

We set a time, recruit others who need it (a lot of the ppl that did the previous Rank missions with us), couple of guys change their work schedule, etc, etc.

We decide to start at 8:30pm, we don't get to Gustav Tunnel until 10pm (I actually thought 90 mins to get an alliance of 60-75 together was pretty good)

If you're above lvl60, you should know a few things.
1) Alliances take time to set up, plan on it, do NOT leave ppl behind
2) Higher level Rank missions aren't a walk in a park, there is a good chance you can die, and something can always go wrong. Don't panic if that happens
3) you can't complete these missions in a matter of minutes. If you join a group doing it, plan on spending quite a while doing it, and plan on changing your plans if you've made some already.
4) For Christ sakes, stick together, again, do NOT leave ppl behind.

Anyways......
You have to fight some Jellies that multiply for 9-1, and to make it harder, you have skellies on both sides of your camp area.
We get agro from skellies mid-fight, and things go wrong in a hurry, 10 ppl die, and one of the higher level RDMs warps out because he had 3HP (if you have 100mp for warp, you have plenty to cure yourself) we kill the skellies, the jellies are sleeping, raise the dead, rest, everyone is unweakened (RDM still hasn't made his way back by this time) We kill the jellies.

/hurray, everyone gets the items, we escape out, finish the mission, and everyone gets started on 9-2

9-2 is a 6 person BCNM fight in Zvahl Castle Bailey (where you fight Shadow Lord)

Half the alliance arrives at the castle, and proceeds to the throne room, leaving the other half behind. Just so happens that the ppl in the throne room know the way, the rest don't, so we're left to wander around, get buttloads of agro, and basically waste a lot of time. Had everyone waited, this would have gone smoothly, but that would have required patience, and at this point, I form the theory that as your level goes up, your patience goes down.

So we FINALLY get there. Our alliance only has 2 PLDs and 1 BLM, so we know some ppl are going to have to go twice, everyone is ok with this.

1st pt goes in and dies. They regroup, try again, and win. 2nd pt goes in and wins. after they come out, we realize one of the PLDs has left (someone said the pld was up for 27 hour, but we see they are still logged in after we were done)

so the PLD and BLM will now have to do this multiple times.

3rd group goes in, dies, they regroup, die again, and PLD says he is leaving. BLM doesn't want to go again. Someone offers 100k, they stay for one more fight (there are still 6 ppl that need it, and only 3 of those ppl are in the group that are going in) One of the guys realizes he isn't going to get a shot and leaves.

The pt wins, only 2 of us left that need it, we ask if they'll stay, they say no, and leave. It's 4am, no chance of finding a replacement PLD or BLM

So 8 hours later, 40k in oils/powders, and I get left behind.

VERY frustrating.

A huge thanks go to the guys that stayed around even though they didn't have to, and a big FU to those that left

If anyone needs me, I'll be flinging my RS4 around the race tracks in GT4

I know it wasn't just you, it was a combination of things, but if you stayed for 4 fights, why not 5? It took 8 hours to get to that point, what's another 15 mins?

I know Techno subbed WHM, but I don't think he could have tanked the fight, then again, maybe he could have, we never got a chance to go in.

It's just very frustrating to get to that point, and then be let down like that. I was (and still am) very bummed.

hmmm Malevolent its not just high levels. I have organized many missions, mostly involving COP, and they are always plauged by people who show interest and leave or never show up to begin with. It causes me to go through bouts where I give up on planning things until I am ready to do it again.

If I'm not mistaken, one goes to the Throne Room getting rank 6, therefore you should have some idea on how to get there if you're going to rank 10, no?

I know I don't always remember everywhere either, but take a few minutes to look at that Castle and it's pretty easy to navigate. And if you're getting aggro there, you're either going to wrong way, or you're pretty low level. You should be happy you're just rank 6 at your level, why does everyone want to be so high in rank before they're capable of carrying their own weight?

I felt like I was leeching off my friends when I got ZM8 completed as level 64 (maybe 65?) thf, and even in my own LS I've heard people crying about not having sky BEFORE LEVEL 60!

And today, there was a /sh in Port Jeuno asking FOR LEVEL 50+ HELP TO GET A CARBUNCLE RUBY!

I'm sorry if things went wrong and you got screwed over, but you should be grateful you've gotten as far as you have at your level. Being a melee you're not one of the necessary pieces in a number of ranks/missions and you're low level melee, making you more of a burden than a help in most high level missions/quests.

The time thing I find is a major issue. I always tell people to plan for at least six hours when doing a mission.

People are always late. For some reason a 1pm EST start time means that people start to get ready at 1pm EST! I'm guilty of this myself. I did a CoP mission today and decided to change which job I was going as 25 minutes before start and had to mule a bunch of junk.

Another problem I have with people on missions is that NO ONE WILL SPEND ANY GIL ON ANYTHING. All those medicines in the Medicines listing on the auction house aren't there to look pretty. They're actually useful for stuff. Such as keeping people alive long enough to complete mission.

My first attempt at 5-2 had a melee who refused to buy sneak oil and prism powder. She said she only had 2,000 gil on her. At level 60. You need a lot of gil to do missions. Someone told me the other day they spent millions of gil getting to sea! I'm on CoP 2-5 and I've already spent bucketloads of gil. Go farm or do BCs or something cause it just doesn't cut it showing up without proper equipment.

I'm always willing to invite outsiders to our linkshell events because I know how hard it is for people to do some of the stuff that requires alliances. But if you are invited to my event or someone elses please come prepared!

I agree with meara... i spend 100k on EACH CoP mission 60K of that bein on Hi Potions. Though zilart and rank missions arent that demanding on the gil Ive needed nothing for than oils and powders for those missions

I prefer to go COP and mission on a 6 person team. Even if you have many pple in your LS. Each team will proceed with their own mission until help is needed. We manage to pull thu to COP Chapter 4 with 6 person. Less chances of being late, less aggro, build teamwork and great frenship.

Zm8 is for lvl65 LoH. you didn't leech the mission. most jp and old generation players will said they did it when zitar was first came up and it was lvl65 cap.

i did it when lvl63 and it was very challenging. zm14 at lvl70 and it also very hard.

6 x lvl75 can walk throught any 3 countries missions (yes, include 9-1) easily. even 5 lvl75 can win windust and sandoria m9-2, i never tried 5 ppl bastok m9-2 with 5 ppl though, but 6 lvl75 and every mages melee zeid and still feel it was a piece of cake.

you think rank 9 and 10 missions are for lvl75, you are wrong, they are mainly for lvl65 to 70 when those missions are released. lvl75 x 6, no hi potions, no juice, no re-raise and just normal food will just walk through them so easy.

I know it's not just high-levels, but they've been around the game long enough to know how it works, so you would think they would have learned some patience by now.

I absolutely understand this. But if I'm a burden, tell me before hand, don't ditch me at the last minute.

well.. lvl 60 really is a push over for m9-2.

m9-2 is a laugh if everyone is 75, and is decent challange if high lvl60s to 70s ish. but 60 is basically should be around rank 7 or 8.

Thats just dumb to blame a PLD cause he didnt want to tank a fight and die over 10 times, unless this is agreed from the start of the Alliance. I am also hoping Techno was one of the ones who did not get this, because going as a PLD/WHM is pretty much useless and would gimp any party he was in, I mean at least if for some odd reason your not going as a PLD/WAR, go PLD/NIN. I am sorry to hear your time got wasted like this and I myself would be quite pissed also, but blaming the PLD isn't right, maybe whoever was the Alliance leader should have figured all this out beforehand, but like most things go, the Alliance leader proably didnt care too much, he/she got Rank 10 and proable had the best party to fight it with.

I'm not blaming Techno, we had 2 70+ PLDs, and Techno said he would sub WHM as a backup healer, and asked if anyone disagreed with this, no one did (and no, Techno didn't get it)

As for the alliance leader, it was someone from my LS, and wasn't very happy that ppl left like that, but what can you do at that point?. Everyone knew beforehand that some ppl would have to go multiple times, and again, no one had any problem with this.

Again, I'm not putting the full blame on any one person, as it was a combination of things, but still not an excuse
