I'm a PLD52/WAR26, 5300TNL. I don't have AF2 yet, but not for lack of trying. I don't have LB2. I have decent equipment, but what I do not have is any luck at all getting pt invites. Today I spent 5 hours LFG, 1st one disbanded before I got to Crawler's Nest, 2nd one disbanded in Kuftal Tunnel after about 1500xp. It isn't a bad day, its been a bad THREE WEEKS. Ever since lvl 50. What do other PLDs do to get pts? Static? I tried that, I've been left behind in lvls by two different static parties before we really even formed. Scream {I want experience points!} in Lower Jueno? I'm completely at a loss! Are ppl just sitting aside and snickering at my equipment, or is there some conspirancy against me? :P

1) Don't shout for a party, that won't get you invites.
2) Just wait. The 50's can be really slow sometimes, a lot of people work on AF's and farm.
3) There might be an increased amount of tanks your level, so you don't get chosen.
4) Farm in your spare time.
5) Put on a search comment, in it, put (warp) >> (Jeuno) if you're not there already and go farm.
6) When you get a party, make a reputation for being good. Good gear, good ability, nice, etc. Know your job and know when to shut up.

Sometimes it just takes time to get into a groove, eventually you'll start getting more parties.

are you on anon? if not then put together a party you as the paladin a rdm/brd, blm, whm, then look for 2 of these drk, rngr, thft, sam war, nin,or mnk .
when you reach the 50s lvls it wil start to slow down because some players become discouraged when theylook at the exp they have to gain in order to obtain the next lvl. just stick with it and dont give up.
goodluck ^_^

I know one thing, you're a damn good paladin, I was in the party with you at Kuftal and I must say I don't see many paladins with your abilities, you're very good at what you do.
It made my job hellaluva lot easier to be able to SATA and not worry about chasing the mob around or wasting my SATA cause hate was lost. In my opinion if I can do about four hundered points in damage and the mob doesn't even give a sideways glance, we got a ourselves a damn good tank......All you people out there, send those invites, she's really good at what she does.

SirEaglestrike, I'm guilty of shouting for pt in Jeuno occasionally(read, twice), and its worked once. I think someone just felt sorry for the newb. :P I have noticed a glut of PLD lately...well, more like no more than 3 seeking usually, but like 5+ at times. Farming gets kinda boring...plus it seems pt leaders don't like hearing 'gotta go back to Jeuno and get my gear, I'm OMW!". And I've hard a few pts compliment me on my tanking, I'm good at keeping hate at least. :P

Glitterngld, no, I'm not on anon, I'm not quite THAT newb...anymore, at least. Iwondered why Dunes the first time through was so slow...durn /anon. I've tried putting pts together, but all five times in the last three weeks I can't get the sixth, or someone in the pt disbands cause they want a RNG, not a THF or MNK. I do remember my shock when I went from 7800tnl to 10k!! Wow. :) I'm this || close to giving up PLD, though...if I sold my gear, I'd get 475k to start BLM with. :)

Crayola...Hi! Erm, I mean...I stay in seek a lot, but not when I'm not serious about getting a pt. I sat in MH 5 hours total today, the 2 pt invites I got were junk. :(

skPhonia, Thanks! I like hearing compliments, even if a pt doesn't last long, walking away from it with a bit of xp and a bit of ego is almost as good as decent XP. :) Only time i hard hate probs in that pt was the Viper>>Enpi>>Freeze tech...had to make sure ot keep shield bash and a flash ready. :P

Do a /sea all inv 50-55 and find people to start a party with. try to form a good base first, getting a rdm or whm to begin with. It can take up to an hour to actually get 6 people into a party. When you invite someone make sure they have at least 4-5 hours to party. None of this "I've only got 30 minutes so can we hurry up please" business you find in the 20s and 30s.

Look at the Mysterytour hunting grounds guide. Try to go to areas that aren't generally popular to level in. This way you can be assured more mobs to fight instead of competing with a lot of other parties for a dozen or so mobs.

i have lots of jobs. i just stay on seek all the time as whatever job i choose and go fishing. fishing passes the time and it also makes me a nice buck or two.

Reputation plays a HUGE factor in getting pt invites. Somehow i got my tarutaru paladin to level 42. lol. one compliment i got was "you hold hate like an iron vice". i thought that was pretty cool.

Anyawys just keep at it. seek. farm. carry a warp cudgel or something with you. just keep active. your at a nice level to go kill everything in passhow marshlands or something. or go play defender in selbina ^^. Just keep active. youll get pts eventually.

If your ready to give up on PLD now in the early 50's, you might not want to waste your time going further. Alot of people quit PLD it seems around lvl 60-61, thats when it starts to get much harder. On the bright side, there are less PLD's out there and party invites are not hard to come by, especially if you are good. As for what LOH said, you don't have to be nice, just good, im not nice and I still get invites all the time =P

Bah, that doesn't mean you shouldn't encourage someone to be nice =P

Parties slowly start to get slightly more competent as you level, however there are still crappy parties 70+. This is why I basically only level with my friends/linkshell mates.

FYI *******************************

My party attempted to invite you last night while you had your flag up, and got no response.

#1 When LFG, stay close to computer, so you can accept the invites you get.

Don't know what to tell you. I never had trouble finding a party for pld. However I also had a static waiting on me to hit 42, I was the smn but we got tired of crappy or non existant tanks and I turned pld to be our tank.

On the rare times I'm farming and forget to turn /anon I get people sending me /tell left and right for party and I'm pld/thf with thf at 15 so don't know what to tell you except to be patient.

Make sure you have search comment turned on. {Experience points}{Please invite me} JP/NA ok {Home Point}{Lower Jeuno} soemthing along those lines. :-)

Xellith, I wish I knew what my reputation was, I'm not very good at gauging how much I'm liked through text, especially when I'm busy trying to time my CureIII's. :)

Lionsfan, I'm not worried about PLD getting harder to play, I'm up to the challenge. I just like being ABLE to play. :)

Acepod, I'm very sorry, I wish I had been watching the screen...though the thing gets a bit blurry and distorted when staring at it for hours. I tend to be in MH when LFG, watching a movie or playing a game on PS2. I glance at the screen pretty often, but I'm lookign for purple /tells, and I might miss a blind invite. I'm sorry I couldn't your pt that day. :(

Papawarlock, I tried the static thing. When I started PLD, a linkshell I was on was gonna form a lvl 10 static...but I took a day too long to get there, they left me. :P Then another linkshell wanted to start a 50 static, but by the time I got 50 and LB1 they were 53+. Decided to just start the static at 55...but, well, its been 3 weeks for me to get just to 52, they're already 56, 57+.

Barchiel...well, you're right. :P

Yes the screen does get blurry after awhile lol.

Anyways, we were in king ranperres tomb, and needed a tank replacement so it was a /t and not a blind invite. But keep the faith, PLD's are ever so sought after, and our server goes through phases. Sometimes there are too many tanks, and others too many mages. Your just in a down time, and it will phase out soon im sure.

ive been lvl 47..400tnl for about two weeks now....but, im a drk so i geuss that explains it. i even got a tell from some random person telling me to give up and no one likes dark knights and im worthless. then she/he went on about how much better their thf is then my drk....
people keep telling me to switch jobs and give drk up but, no way. i love my job and i take pride in it. i dont pay my money to play this just to bend over backwards to please everyone else. i could see if i show up to exp parties with a drk/brd but i dont.

kinda frustrating that i have to depend on 5 other people just to do the littlest things in this like get 400exp...or do most missions and quests for that matter.

I dunno as a pld you should have no problem getting pt. invites. But it seems to me lately, everyone wants perfect parties and no one is game for the old 3k or 4k an hour parties anymore. Now all they want is Manaburn or rng X2, or bones parties. One of my other jobs is taru samurai, and you can imagine how long he stays on seek for. Just do something besides sit in MH, so your time is at least occupied.

I would try helping others with their LB1 quests. I know it seems easy enough to you cuz it's done but there are some people that just aren't lucky enough to get the help they need. Especially the papyrus paper kind of help they need.

One alliance of 3 parties you help equals 3 partys to party with soon. I dunno just an idea.

For now I'm leveling WAR.

Only 5 hours lfg? Bah, you lightweight.
Party disbanding before you get to camp? Been there, done that.
I've once had this incredible party, incredible. But sadly, we had to call it quits with me 1.5k tnl. My next party only made 500exp, disbands. Next pt, 500exp again. I ended up leveling after doing eco-warrior and using my "Page of Dragon Chronicles".
Only 3 weeks? I started my "Level 50 hell" at 53, but yep, been there, done it.

This is what almost every single melee goes through during the 50's, as far as the exping goes. As for the AF and LB, everybody goes through that.
