Bored at work I have decided to start a new thread. Please post your stories of stunning victories, or tragic defeats!
The good:
Hopeless and alone in Castle Vhalz(sp?), I found myself wandering aimlessly through the halls looking for a way out, and possibly my coffer^^. Having logged out there the night prior after successfully getting my coffer key, I was lost. I remebered a party member from the night before saying the quickest way out was through the basement. So I decided to fall down a hole. I ended up in a room with four sections, each walled of from the other, with no visible way out. Thinking I was done for, I stood on a small circular pad, waited for my sneak and invisible to wear off and proclaimed in link chat "{death} {Can you hear me?} {I'm Ready!}". Just as invisible dropped, something happened, I was teleported to another room! Given a second chance to escape, I recast sneak and invisible, and searched for an exit. That's when I saw the beautiful green text the read "Treasure Coffer". I got my old guantlets, and found my way out of the Castle!
The n00b:
After agreeing to help out a LS member with Mission 2-3, the dragon fight in Sandy, I switched to BLM to sleep the Dragon. Upon entering the BC I DS + Sleep the dragon, melees attack the seeker, but the dragon keeps waking up. I cast sleep, it woke up again. Minutes later, dead and deleveled, I scroll through my chat logs to see the reason the dragon woke.

Yes, I failed to remove <bt> from my macros, and everytime I slept the dragon I followed up by nuking it! >.< Lesson learned.

One of my most shamefull moment. Was in a party in Crawler's nest, i wanted to erase someone. I casted teleport-Vazhl instead... it was 3 am and i was tired, just hoping to let some party member get they're level who was so close. Everyone was pissed at me, especially the 2 party member who did'nt had Vazhl telepoint and stayed alone with the IT mob...
This morning(is it morning), I was just about to start with a new group of five and pull for them as a WAR/WHM. We were camped out at Siren Sands in the Valkurm Dunes and I had my sights set on a Snipper.
Nearby, I see someone I had partied with Lalicka(no sub yet) and an old acquaintance Porkchops crossing to leave the beach. They were talking in /s mode so I stopped and said hey. Earlier they had invited me to party with them but I was already on my way to a camp.
Well I had partied all night and was tired but even so there was NO way I could have seen the Goblin Ambusher that just walked up behind me and pounded me down in like 5 hits. At least, I don't think so. But that was my first pull for the group and since I was VERY tired I hp to the hp at the entrance to the Dunes and logged.
If you guys are reading this that I partied with this morning "I'm sorry". I know you prob think I am a newbie now.

The good: Level 100 cooking. I ain't bragging but it was a REALLY great accomplishment for me.
The bad: I usually level at night since it's the best time for me in real life to actually focus on staying in a party and not having to go AFK alot. I play as WHM as the majority know. Was in a party and I remember telling my party AFK a minute and ended up falling asleep... I dunno how or even remember anything. I woke up at like 3 a.m. at my home point in Jeuno. I was like wtf happened lol I checked my chat log to see at least 100 <calls> 2 red text's of deaths and a ton of JP cursing I'm imaging. SORRY!! >.< But thanks for the D2!!
The ugly: A couple days ago I was doing the whole opo opo crown quest, (woot 6/10 pieces) and I came across a NPC (while trying to find a diff NPC) who gave me a quest. I was like woot this is synch (spelling?) I just had to go to Ifirit's Cauldron and give some pamamas to the offering. I was like, yeah this can be done easy just sneak invis and resneak and reinvis in safe spots away from bombies.
Round #1) So anyhoo, I ask a friend to come (Ziren 70+ PLD) just to pound down any aggros that happen to arise. I read on allakhazam quest section how to do the quest and they just basically stay take East entrance and Left Left boom you're there. So the first time around (yes, FIRST TIME ON THIS SYNCH...) Ziren beats up a bombie while we wait for the fire to go down (forgot cluster) and then we got to the area we needed to get to but had NO idea how to get there. So Ziren jumped down (oops) by accident and we neded up tele'ing out when he took aggro from a DC to him. (I was subbed SMN so I couldn't escape)
Round #2) Ziren says he knows how to get to the offering cause he ran by it for a ZM or something. I was like woot. We start going towards where he thinks it is when all of the sudden he takes aggro. A bat DC to him (I think) he was getting pawned and said he was just gonna run for it and take me to the place and told me to keep sneak and invis on. There were bombs close so I just booked it with him forgetting sneak and invis. He RAN like the fasts PLD EVER. He trained at least 10 bats and 3 bombs, and what looked like a dinosaur too? I forget lol. Needless to say he says "it's just over there" and after a benediciton and another 5 minutes of running he dies. I instantley cast invis, forgetting to cast sneak and I soon follow him to death as the bats ate me up. We HP'd and went to bed.
Wow this is getting to be a long post. I hope you're enjoying the reading lol.
Round #3) I decided to take matters into my own hands in the morning. I mean, this WAS SUPPOSED TO BE EASY and maybe I'm just doing something wrong. So I read the forums again and every forum says RIGHT RIGHT BOOM you're there. So finally I see one that says take the west entrance so I tried it. RIGHT RIGHT BOOM I was there. Man was I pissed!! I could of taken the other entrance the whole time. I see the alter, I wait for the bombies to poof away from me and I uninvis and trade my pamamas. Nothing happens. I remember reading something about shouting your name so the Guardians hear you. So I shouted /sh CRAYOLA!!!!! Meanwhile I'm sure everyone in radius was like... wtf. Still nothing. I think, maybe its a new offering so I warp back to jeuno and go back to kazham.
Round #4) .......... I read that it's WILD PAMAMAS they're not the same as Pamamas >.<;; they drop off of Opo-Opos which are Too Weak to me apparently. I whack down one no problem, no drop. A second, no problem, no drop. A third, a little problem. 2 more monkeys spawned and they started beating me down. I had to Bene... I can't believe I was dying from 3 monkeys!! Long story short (been waiting to hear that I bet) I had no MP to escape or tele or ANYTHING and I was in the middle of the jungle no one around to help. I died and lost 2k exp from MONKEYS!!
Round #5) R@*$&*@^&$@^&%@&%^&@ I find out you can buy stupid Wild Pamamas on the AH for 3k. One in stock, I grab it, I tele to yhoator, I go to ifirit BOOM done. I go back for my reward. 5k.

Good:
Castle Zvahl coffer as a bard for hands. Managed to stay alive throughout the search for the coffer by contant sneak and invisible. Finally locate the coffer, but down a completely different maze of tunnels, in which I must back track most of the way I had come. Manage to find the right tunnel and get up to the coffer, only to be surrounded by Evil Eyes (No surprise there). So I wait for them to turn their backs, take invisible down and trade key with coffer, 'you are not close enough to do this action', creep a little closer, 'you are not close enough to do this action'. I move right up to it, and sure enough the eyes turn and the hits start coming. I Horde Lullaby them, open the chest and get the gauntlets, and instant warp my way out. 10..20..30..40..50... the eyes wake again.. 60.. the hits start coming again, and the warp animatation starts... I reappear in Port Jeuno with bright red 63 HP, Phew...
Bad:
Chaining raptors and goblins in Kuftal tunnel for very good experience. A couple party members head out to pull a mob back, except they both bring a mob back, including a link. So we have more mobs than we can handle to deal with. I cast a lullaby on one of the goblins, but the tank keeps dipping down into the orange. I decide to give them a Horde Lullaby, except I forgot we were fighting on a ledge with worms directly below. Not noticing the mistake I made, I soon realize when I get hit by a few large stones, and see 'Cave worm casts Stone II'. Sadly enough the entire party died, by a kind White Mage passing through gave us Raise II.

Leveling tonight in Boyahda Tree, we were chaining everything in site with no downtime. Our RDM d/c'd and we still kaept going. We get a link, np, sleep and kill'm both. It was fantastic, until the RNG brought back 3 knight crawlers. The problem here wasn't the 3 crawlers, but that I slept them with Horde Lullaby! Why was that a problem? I seemed to have slept a Moss Eater, and woke up angry and brought a couple of friends lol. Needless to say death insued, but the THF made it out, got us raises, and we chained on. To bad Barchiel wasn't online to call me a n00b in link chat.... :p
