I think people that play casinos already know that the odds are stacked against them. The urge to win, despite the odds, gives them something to shoot for that they aren't supposed to have. In essence they are hoping to steal from fate.

It makes as much sense as people that say their credit cards are robbing them with late fees and high interest rates. And yes, sometimes credit cards do surprise you with untold (but still printed) conditions to the agreement. O.O

But casinos in FFXI, for the most part, are very easy to understand and hopefully run in a fair way despite the odds against the player.

Casinos: Annoying Spam causing major lag in lower Jeuno to be worse. It wasn't so bad when Mistah and only a couple others had casinos there, but it is just riduclous now, everyday I see another person I have never heard of spamming a casino in lower Jeuno and other areas. I was even leveling in Garaliage Citidel not too long ago and someone started spamming a casino there. You say to me if I dont like casino's, just turn off my shouts, well no I shouldn't have too, ask the many PLD's I have helped with thier AF boots, or the others I have helped when responding to thier shouts in Jeuno. That is why, I always have, and always will blacklist every casino player I see, not because I dont like them, but because I dont like having to scroll up all the time to read other shouts that are worthwhile.

Everybody that plays casinos should know the odds are against them. This does not mean that you cannot win.

I believe this to be untrue. There are ways to make money from casinos. The biggest part of it is which casino it is that you play. Bet limits are a major factor, as is your starting capital. If you play it smart, it can be a consistent income. Yes, the spam does suck. I agree. No matter what one may do, there is still only one way to deal with it. {/blist}

Edit: Minor grammar/spelling.
