Confession Of a Gil Seller!Follow

#1 Mar 25 2005 at 4:37 PM Rating: Default
This was taken off the Main Forum. Do you believe it is real?, do you care if it is real? does it make it ok to sell gil?, would you just rather see this girl sell her body than ruin our game? Would you like to see a picute of this girls body before you decide if she sells it?, would you still mpk her if given the chance?. I thought this was funny and would share it. It is kinda funny and in no way do I believe it to be true.

Bah, I'm replying with what I replied with in the original thread, even though TDarkmoon mentioned that it is fake.

That is probably true, in most cases. It's quite fucking sad, really. What will they do if their account gets banned? They'd be fucked. If you think about it, they probably make good money off of it. Think about it....10 hours a day of farming and hunting to sell Gil. Most lameasses who buy Gil are here in America. The American dollar is worth 7.8 Hong Kong dollars. Lets say you farm about 500K per 10 hour day in FFXI. That's 1 million Gil per two days, 3.5 million gil per week. Let's bump it up to an even 4 million Gil per week. In bulk, according to my research, 4 million Gil goes for $130. That's $130 per week. I don't know what IGE or other Gil selling services will actually pay you, but I'll estimate a 100% markup.

So, let's say that each Gil seller makes about $75 a week by selling Gil on IGE. That's 585 Hong Kong dollars per week, 2,340 per month, 28,080 per year. I don't know what the cost of living in Hong Kong is like, but most likely if these people have to resort to selling a game currency for work, they live in a poor area of China.

I never would sell Gil nor would I ever buy it. I don't need to sell it because I have a job and I live in America. I also wouldn't sell/buy it because I don't want to and also the fact that you can get banned for it. I'm not risking my account to make a quick buck. Fuck that.

Even if it was real, how much profit can you make assuming you have to pay the $15 a month to play (more, in the case of some of the group gil sellers)? It'd make much more sense to just become a *****.

The area must not be too poor if they can establish an internet connection

lol You think that because they have an internet connection, they dont live in a poor place? Ever heard of the company funding comps and connections? Also you dont think that the companies these people work for, dont pay their monthly fees? Have you ever had a job? Its like any other job really, the company fronts all the stuff so you can make them money.
