I got a bad computer Virus that completely nerfed my comp, so I had to format. I can't quite remember what my sound card company was, hence I can't find the driver for it. Does anyone know what I can do?

Windows should choose a driver automatically. It may not be the correct driver but sometimes windows may have the correct brand. From the device manager you can check to see what driver was installed. Also, you could look at the card itself to see if the brand is marked on there.

What's my problem then? I don't have any sound, and I can't find anything to fix it ><

If nothing else, you can open up the case to see the manufacturer of your motherboard. Since you dont have a dedicated sound card, most motherboard manufacturers have some type of built-in audio. Try searching for sound drivers for your motherboard by either going to the manufacturer website and downloading them, or simply doing a google search. Hope this helps.

I'd have to agree with techno..

If you have your original stuff (from when u purchased PC or Sound card), you should have software to install the driver.

if not, try looking in your tower and seeing the brand and type of card. That way you can go online to the manufacturer's website and hopefully download the correct driver ^^

oh yeah, and its a good idea to get something like Norton Antivirus and keep it updated (run liveupdate ~every week). subscription fees/year may be high, but I haven't had a virus since we got our new PC. Securing your PC should be #1 priority ^^ (and get some anti adware/spyware programs. a good one is Spyware search and destroy)
