Not necessarily. Most of us are nice to our friends, but how many of us just do something helpful to someone we don't know?

How many would offer to gather up some friends and go do a bcnm to help a whm get a scroll of Erase? Or help the friend of a friend travel the world in search of the weather patterns for Carby? Or join the random genkai 1 or 2 party just for kicks or just to pay forward what someone once did for you?

Helping a friend is easy. Helping someone ye don't know isn't.

I saw a guy I have not seen in a while last night (Cmz). We first me when we were both trying to get the Mist Silk Cape drop many months ago. We agreed to let each other know if we got the pop to save time and frustration.

Last night, he was helping a friend try to get the drop, so I offered to help hunt the NM. We partied up and about an hour later, we got the NM and the drop. In the process, I made two new friends. Well worth it.

And that's why Papawarlock rocks ^^.

Edit: I decided to add something to this thread. There is a major difference betweem RAK and abuse...
Example: being a THF I am always willing to help friends and unknown people getting a drop, like items for LB1 for example. Now getting random tells: "eh can you help me camp the Emp?" or... "hey can I have some gil?"...

While camping NMs in Quifim, yes I was bored, I raised a war in pt that was struggling outside the tower. I PL for a bit, only stepping in if they really needed it. I even gave up Valkurm Emperor to go raise someone at the beach; I did end up claiming it though, no one was there lol.

Currently I just helped an LS member get their Phalanx for his rdmage. Since I can't lvl (stuck on LB1 since November ><)I just spend my time camping, crafting or helping ppl.

I am prolly one of the biggest R.A.K. guys around. Not to brag, but thats what i enjoy doing.

I have killed the rank 3 dragon i would guess about 53 times (i lost count at one point, but thats a close guess).

Ive been tagging along with coffer key hunts for strangers for awhile now. I am trying to lvl Gaxe, but it seems non of the coffer key mobs will lvl my Gaxe but 2-3 points in 3-4 hours, but i stay as long as i can. The other day i was a helper in getting 3 beadeaux coffer keys for total strangers.

I used to contact 1 new WAR a week, and assuming they didnt "Know it all", i would meet them where they were, give advice/strategies, and eventually take them to town and get them some new armor (new players have very bad armor usually), and some food. Id make them spend their gil, and then use mine for whatever was left. So far i think ive spent about 300K on new players that are total strangers. Thats not a lot of gil, but most people wouldnt spend it on strangers. I havent done this in awhile, so i think ill do it again this weekend.

I helped 4 RDM's kill that ghost (i remebered the name, its miser murtphy !!), for their RDM AF. I dindt know any of them.

I helped a random stranger look for the eldemine coffer box, which i needed as well. I told him he could have it first if we found it, and we looked for hours but never did find it. I truley would have let him have it though.


Ive helped 2 people get their paper for LB1 recently, and helped some people kill exorays in CN when i was looking for my coffer (got the drop 4 fights in :).

And prolly the biggest of all of that, is i went back into promy holla, and helped some people with a god awful party setup beat the boss so they could be done with the first 3 promys !!!


All of these things are outside of LS, i help my LS mates as much as possible as well.

All you need to do is post on this board, and there are tons of people here that will help you with this. I for one will, but you need to put together a few people including a healer or 2.

What time zone rev?

Maybe we can set something up for a weekend or something. I sometimes play from 1:00 AM-5 or 6 am EST on the weekends depending on whats happening in my house.

It isnt the same time frame as japan, but you get the better part of JP time. I think your 5 hours behind is actually 8 hours behind me (EST), and so if it is midnight here, it is 4 PM there. So say 1:00 am -5:00 am would be 5-9 PM for you, and we maybe we can pull it off.

Anyone else here do late nights on the weekends? maybe a healer and another DD?
