Compliments that made your dayFollow

My finest compliment came while fighting rumble crawlers in the crawler's nest. The SMN I was partying with sent me a tell that simply said, "You're realy good, you're a way better bard then me." That made my head grow a few sizes. :p

This is not one of the mainly compliments that I get, but one of a Bard whose name I forgot.

No, it's not the uber Meth. It was some lvl 40ish Bard in Crawler's Nest. I saw him with yellow HP in the open constantly sleeping 3 mobs. His puller got a link and he decided to keep the mobs at bay while his PT got outta there. That was amazing to me. I don't know if he got outta there alive, but he was a brave man. Reminded me of some D&D type of stuff, very cool. I forgot his name though. ><

I've had several great compliments that I've received over the time that I've played! I've had a few pts that everyone was so good that we were all joking that we should make that pt a static, I've been told that I'm one of the nicest people on FFXI (/blush), and just yesterday I was given a link pearl cause they said a good whm is hard to find!

Apparently I'm not too shabby as a whm or blm and when someone says something about it, it always makes your day a little better :-D

Best compliment came waaay back when i was Taking SAM thru dunes... basically, the party structure was like this: 14 WAR, 14 WAR, 13 MNK, 13 WHM, 14 RDM, 14 SAM/RNG. Ranks were as expected, 1, 1, 1, 1, 2, 5. So the instant i get invited to pty and all the "Hello!"s finish, i find myself as Pty lead. ~_~;;

I says to myself: "Okay... let's just have fun..." Said that to the pty too, adn they kept asking questions about that to do and such... I ended up teaching the WARs how to make provoke Macros, the MNK got a Boost Macro outta me, and the RDM i helped out by advising to keep different magic types on different sides of his Macro list... Everything went swimmingly, laughs were had, jokes flew more than everything until we were on our way to Whitebone, since Siren sands had gotten crowded. We were lvl 16-17 by then, and everyone was excited 'caus ethey were gonna get their subjobs soon, when We picked up not 1, not 2, but 3 gobbies.

Naturally, cires of "Zone! Zone!" went up, but i said "Pick one and 2hr it!" Sure enough, I heard two Mighty Strikes and a Hundred Fists fly, and though the Mighty Strikes didn't do much, th MNK nearly dropped his gobbie... Two arrows from me and the MNK's Gob fell, then i turned and hit abother with Piercing Arrow... that one almost dropped... The WHM was spent, and wanted to 2-hr, but i said to wait, and I let meikyo shisui go. Tachi Enpi, Tachi Enpi, and the second gob fell, then the last one Got a Piercing arrow to his nose and he fell over... WHM 2hr-ed and we all stepped into Selbina to take a breather.

Once in town they all started praising me for Managing that whole mess and saying how cool SAM 2-Hr was. I told 'em If they ever needed a pty again, to let me know... Don't remember the names, but i remember the praise and the thanks. i also remember somethign the WHM said.

"Thanks for being pleasant." He had said. He went on to say that his last party had been nothing but complaints of how much of a n00b he was, just because he didn't have his sub and wasn't confident about his job.

I like to think that a little Kindness goes a long way, and if you treat the new people with a little thought and a little patience, they'll appreciate it and go on to help the next new bunch in the same way. ^_^
