not entirely, besides nin isnt as great as people think >.> yea they dont take damage but cant hold hate for crap, over all your DD end up taking alot more damage so you end up healing more mp, besides it just returns a place war/mnk which is a great tank
I don't think it's going to be that bad. Nobody even knows how much emnity is going to be lost from each shadow, it might not even be that noticeable. And anybody who says that ninja can't hold hate worth crap pretty much has never had a good one. Granted I can steal the hate off almost any, but if it's only during WS, then it's good enough for me (since I can steal hate off alot of plds during ws's anyway).
Basically this just means your run of the mill crap ninjas will go bye bye. You know the ones, all they do is spam Utsusemi and Provoke........and that is it.
Now you're gonna have to have smart ninjas. Ones who use their ninjutsu properly, they have Blind and Paralyze type, and enfeebles have alot more hate than most people realize, then there's the missed and paralyzed attacks. No shadows lost, no hate lost. Evasion gear will be more importan than it already is, and now, they'll ALL tank with Berserk on. Why the majority of them don't already I'll never know. You got crap for defense anyway, but if the entire point is not getting hit, what's the deal? And you'll hit harder=more hate. I'm no Stephen Hawking but I figured that out on my own.
Of course thieves and /thf will be more popular than ever. Hey, if a pld party requires a healer (whm) and a refresher (rdm/brd) why shouldn't a ninja party require a thf? Makes sense to me.

Did you actually THINK before you posted that?
A good NIN CAN hold hate. It's just that they can't get hate back as fast as a PLD can. Sure, PLDs are perhaps the best tanks for holding hate, but a RNG can easily take that hate away.
WAR/MNK is a good low lvl tank, but at higher lvls; no. I mean, ANYONE can tank. All you need is a mage dedicated to healing that particular tank. Ask your mages do THEY want a WAR/MNK tanking in Bibiki Bay.
I'm so tired of ppl getting pissy on NINs. NINs are great tanks with the right set up, just like a PLD is a great tank with a good set up. With a NIN, you dont really need as many mages, with a PLD you usually need at least 2.
PLD tank = safer XP, solid hate, but sometimes less XP per hour
NIN tank = slightly risky XP, decent hate, usually more XP per hour
The LAST thing we need is another "Dunes Wait". You know, waiting for a WHM to seek. No one wants to wait to XP. Therefore, the more viable tanks the better.
I like PLDs and NINs for different reasons, but I like getting XP the most. No need to make it seem like NINs wont be tanking anymore. This will only weed out the sucky ones or make them better. Hell, they are paying out-the-*** anyway, give them a break.
Instead of pointing fingers, you should respect other's jobs. We are in this together. We all supposed to be comrades. Its the beastmen and the evils of Vana diel that you should be jeering. Instead you join ignorant bandwagons and take your hate out on other jobs. How stupid.
