ok i get into a party in dunes, there is 16pld/8war, (me) nin/war, rdm/war (pt leader), thf, mnk/war, thats it sofar. ok

me: pld and nin..?
rdm: yeah?
me: who tanks?

me: <um...> <thanks for the offer but ill have to pass>
rdm: why?
me: mnks r not tanks...
rdm: ok ill tank!

..ok he was serious 2 ><. and after that...

party: get a whm as 6th if u can

couple seconds later new member arives

i check party list...invited a bst.

(/sigh) sadly said this game is like the world we live in but alot smaller >.> no matter where you go no matter who your around theres always gunna be morons, look at the leader of my hnm ls hes a prime example...*cough* Turbo *cough*, he desides to start a hnm/sky/dyanmis ls, the sad part is at the time he was a lv 60 thf/nin rank 5 >.> ok WTH hnm lv requirement is 65+ most of the better known hnm/sky/dynamis ls dont even recruit melee till 70+ only way you get away with being 65+ is if your a mage... second off sky pass is aquired at the end of zilwart mission 12, to start the zilwart missions you have to be rank6+ (he was rank 5, still is i think).....the over all status of the ls is pitiful we have like 20-50 members for every member with sky lv 65+ we have 2-3 people that are like rank 3 lv 30 >.> ok if that isnt noobish what is

Darn, so I guess all those people who played before the introduction of advanced jobs were REALLY screwed. They had neither ninja nor paladin. I hope for their sake they had lots of warriors because those n00b monks and their high hp and evasion are all but useless to tank....

the whole turbo with hnm/sky/dynamis linkshell actually work out (kinda). He merged his ls Bg Pimps with another (sorry forget the name). The LS is called true legends my bro used to carry it around (dont think he does might) and it is funny as hell. for starters every dynamis they try they get whooped. second one of the biggest hlpers from BP left the LS for reason unkown to me(Antec) and i dont think Turbo has even gone to sky yet. O did i mention that when they got serket one of thier members called for hlp XD ( i know it was an accident but D***n)

Here's an idea, how about mentoring the new guys. I know how frustrating it is when someone isn't aware of something. Now maybe if you would have enlightened him to the fact of appropriate tanks, and he then continued to be set in his ways... flame away! But not everyone starts the game knowing every facet of all jobs. And, if you're in the dunes I would hope you expected this. Mentorship and leadership people!

Everybody has their quirks. But to be quirky(?really a word?) most of the time makes the title, noob. Oh so sweet!

A year ago, I partied with a new guy. Me being new this was pretty cool. "Oh! I have a party buddy! Yippe!"

He was a lvl 10 Galka, me playing Orctooth lvl10 Black mage. Decided to take on the canyon north of saruta.

I specifically told him to let me Bind, nuke, and feeble then he charges in. Instead he provokes a VT sapling and before I could get my bind out he "Calls for help!" and runs without telling me to evacuate. He heads north, <The zone was south of us> just noticing the situation I zone and wait.

Before long I see his name pop up in Saruta and dont see him. He was killed of course and hp'd to outpost. He meets me at canyon entrance again. >< I of course tell him what I'm going to do. ...

Welll to make this long story short he does the same damn thing. Provokes, calls fro hwlp and runs NORTH! dies.

After the third time he's lvl 9 and I decide to ditch him. I never see him again. He was on my friend list but seem to have quit. Poor guy. ...Ummm...maybe


One thing being "New" to FFXI but being a noob is another

I was a noob in the ruins when I along with a good friend (Good as in she didnt blist me for this stupid stunt> decided to take on a gob then the bomb. Me and her were lvl10 at the time so this was going to be tricky. She says to bind and I go for the gob first. "easy prey" first I thought. As I bound the Gob the bomb comes a chargin'. Two hit wonder we die

We didnt know it attacked on magic so we go back and tried again. >< and again. That's my noob story from those days.
