So last night I admit...i got caught up in the hype. Even though as a BST I have a ready made NPC (so to speak) I jumped on the band wagon and started the quest. I was happy with my selection (mine looks like Olavia from the CNest escort quest) and trotted of to Eldemiene.....until a LS mate states there is a line. Then someone else chirps in that there is a 2-3 hour wait in Gelshba. I quickly turn around and do something productive.

Why did people wait up to 5 HOURS to do this quest? Serious, I will just do it sometime next week. Was it that important to have this quest done?

Man...I wish people were this ambitious about doing missions and stuff...

BTW, not a bash for anyone that waited, just a curious question.

*edit* oh yeah...I saw the line omw to do 7-2 Sandy....it was freaking HUGE! Made a cool little blue boomerang on my radar.

I actually waited 2 times at Eldemie because I missed a Cutscene the first time around. The reason I waited and will wait tonight at Ghelshba, well so many people know everything about this game and this is something that I have a chance to be 1 of the first to learn something on my own about this new NPC friend. Also it gets you away from the Norm, I am usually doing the level grind with my 2nd job, in sky, or helping someone, this is something new and brings new life back to this game for some of us.

Anyone can tell me exactly where to start and how to do this quest? This friend thing really tickle my curiosity. Probably gonna wait a while before doing it though i am a little too impatient to stay in line 2 hour.

Thanks. Pyaa^^

Pya, there is a huge thread on the main board explaining it in detail. But if you want the quick guide, go talk to the person by thye stairs in northern jueno, and then red ghost (or one other NPC ) in port jueno. Then off to eldimene necropolis to click on a ??? and fight an NM or 2 (easily soloed as a lvl 40 job) and then off to ghelsba outpost (where you do BCNM 20) for a bcnm 40 solo fight (which is supposed to be very easy). Your NPC buddy will show up halfways through the fight to help and then your all set (prolly have to go back to jueno for the key item?? ) I havent done this, just passing what ive heard so far.

Have fun.

I'm with you Lokkii.

Since there was only 600ppl on when I finally logged in, and I think half of them were trying to do the quest, I just ran around starting the gob helm quest, and killing new NMs

i was one of lucky 1st 300 ppl to get back on and do this quest
i only had to wait a few mins to fight NM in eldieme necropolis
but i had to wait 2 hrs to fight dragon, yes he is really easy as my rdm i kited him with gravity and nuked and chainspelled him he went down (im a elvaan rdm btw so that means any rdms nukes can hurt him badly). good luck to anyone doing this quest and enjoy the wait @@

Great news to hear a RDM can solo this. Did you need to {convert}? How much damage did you take? Is stoneskin a good idea?
