I want people that don't know Linkx, to know what kind of person he is....

Today while camping Sozu for the Thief's Knife, I managed to claim him, not a hard feat considering I was pretty much the only camper. Linkx had showed up earlier, but was AFK, he said as much. I took Sozu to the stairs, I needed the running room for Throat Stab, and commenced pounding on him. I had Sozu about 3/4 dead, when Linkx returned and showed up on the stairs next to me where I was fighting Sozu. He sent me a tell asking me if I needed another TH2, I thought what the hell, so I invited and we both finished off Sozu. He got the last hit in, Tricking off me.

Next thing I know, Thief's Knife flashed across my screen, as you can imagine I was elated, ecstatic, jumping out of my chair. I lotted before checking my inventory to see if I had room. Next thing I see is him lotting as well and 'Linkx obtains Thief's Knife'.

Next line......

'Linkx wishes to trade with you'

There was no hesitation, nothing was said on my part, he just up and traded with me and I got Thief's Knife.

Now, considering this knife can sell up to 30 mil, is about the dream item for alot of thieves, he had the knife in his possession and he gave it up....Was it the right thing for him to do? Some will say yes, some will say he should have kept it since he helped kill Sozu. I, myself, can't answer that, what I do know, this man selflessly gave up the knife. Even after he's gone over 20 kills without getting the drop, he didn't hesitate to give me the knife....

To Linkx, you have my utmost respect, I bow down to you sir, and just have to say from the bottom of my heart 'Thank You'.

I understand this is only a game, but what you did shows what kind of person and player you are. I am truly honored to know you and I am glad we crossed paths...

WOW!

All I have to say is WOW!

Linkx, that is perhaps one of the biggest acts of trust that I've EVER seen on the game...or hell, RL.

Dude, you deserve a medal. More than that. Do you realize how thoughtful that was??? My god, that is simply amazing. I pray that FFXI has more ppl like this. I pray that the world has more ppl like this.

First, I'd like to say congrats on the THF knife. :) A THF in my LS has been trying forever to get it, still hasn't.

And about Linkx:

I've partied with him when he was a wee THF, lol. He's one of the most respectable players on this Server. Very selfless, and always willing to help.. Truely a great guy in my opinion. Him and I talk once in a while if we run into eachother, though he has a vague memory of me, lol.

But he is truely a great guy, and I commend you both. Just if more people could be like that on our server, lol..

I'm glad to finally see a thread about how much someone helped them out, rather than how much someone ska-rewed them.

edit: rate up for giving recognition where recognition is due...even though you didn't have to :)

Linkx is awesome. He was one of the original Soulfire members and is still a member. He's the kind of guy who just goes out and gets things done, for himself and for other people.

He's been camping Sozu for that knife forever now. We're all waiting for him to get it.

...if you wanna share your TH3 with him to help him get a knife too I'm sure he'd appreciate it.

You're lucky to have a ls member of that calibur. That type of player only helps to give his/her ls a good name. Not like that slacker Alderon.

/slaps Alderon for luck before his next NM battle...

/Salute and /bow to LinkX.

I can only imagine what he must have felt having seen that knife drop....having something that he's been working for so long to achieve literally 'slip' through his fingers!

Would that there were more LinkX in game - something we can all strive for!

You did something pretty darn good yourself! You 'lotted' on the knife you've been working hard to obtain. Give yourself some credit too!

Now....pay it forward - help him get that damn knife!

Happy day in Shiva!!

Yeah, I've run into LinkX a few times. He's been playing the game for quite a while. He is definitely one of the cool people I've had the pleasure of meeting.

Im glad to hear your story, we need more people like that and we need more people like you that actually care about the nice things people do for each other.

I agree with Fem about you should pay it forward to Linx. Who knows without the 2 TH2's it may not have dropped. With a TH2 and TH3 it should drop even quicker I would think. Very Noble move by Linx though, I am sure at least 90% of people who win a lot on something would not give it up. I have only seen that one time before with Kalten in Dynamis Jeuno, he won the lot on Monk AF2 and then passed on it so Ruroni could have it.

Indeed. Help those that have helped you.. Good motto, good way to make friends. :D Offer your help and I'm sure he will recognize you for that. :)

I'd also say good things about Linkx, but he won Assassin's Bonnet in his first Dynamis with SW, when I wasn't even allowed to lot. So I'm still bitter. (I still don't have that bonnet...)

He's a bit newbish though, I could enhance his gear a little bit, although he pwns me with his Rajas Ring ; ;

Also, this is the type of stuff I wish more people were capable of doing.
