NOV 22 LAUNCH:
US
DEC 2 LAUNCH
EU
DEC 10 LAUNCH
JAPAN

<.<
Suprisingly enough...

The Japanese unit will cost 37,900 yen, an equivilant of $345 USD, slightly less than the $399.99 price tag for the US.
European price tag: 399.99 Euros. (for full system, not core)
~~wtf?~~

Yeah, as long as my wife has her new couch and bedroom set by then, this will be all mine. Smiley: grin

My Ps2 is not far from taking a dump on me anyways. I cannot wait to see FFXI with graphics that blow away the Ps2.

One question though; with Xbox do you have to pay like 19.99 a month just to have online access, then pay the 12.00 a month for FFXI?

If so Smiley: cry. 12.00 FFXI, 19.99 Online Xbox, 45.00 Cable internet. Looking at about 77.00 a month to play this game then Smiley: mad

from what ive heard...

Xbox 360 will have free general access to Live; "Silver membership" (or w/e)

at the time being... Xbox live is $50 a year. If you have Xbox live already paid for when you set up your 360, you'll have the "Gold membership", more access, more stuff on Live.

and of course, the seperate cost of FFXI

Bah, why don't Microsoft just give one type of service. Not a good one and a gimped one like they are doing with the Xbox360. That's the reason they are only releasing the "good" version of the 360 in Japan, they ain't dumb enough to buy the gimped version. But I think it will be mainly parents buying the gimped one, players will get the good one. But I'm waiting for Revolution and PS3, when gaming gets interesting cuz of more competition. (though I think PS3 personally OWNZORZ 360, and Revolution's fun factor will bring about the apocalypse).

Xbox is ahead with the online play deal, too bad SE and M$ couldn't figure out payment details earlier. Xbox would have FFXI now. I wonder how PS3's online deal will work, if they charge or if it's according to game.

If they use the PS3 the same way they used it for the PS2 then the company itself runs the servers. EA used to (and probably still does) get the best out of this because as they released their next sports game they would shut down the servers of the older one, so even if you liked the version they had you were forced to upgrade or not play at all. It's one of the things I hate about EA (other then they spit out the same crap over and over again every year).

It would be interesting to see how things go with FFXI and the xbox. As I understand it the siver level will be perfect for that because it's the "Free" access. It would still allow you to play FFXI and not have to pay for Live. It would also pave the way for other MMORPG's to come to the Xbox as you won't be double billed.

We'll see how things actually go as Microsoft isn't known for their being friendly lets make things easy for people when we can make more money from it.

I'm still debating myself if I want to get a xbox 360. I haven't been impressed with the graphics of any of the games they've showed so far, halo isn't coming out till the PS3 launch (I bought the original Xbox specifically for Halo) but the packaged deal looks good.

$399 in the US, probably going to be $499 or higher in canada. Thats a lot of money for a console that so far barely peaks my interest.

I was going to get an XBox360 for FFXI, but I changed my mind. I'm not paying $400 for a system that I only want ONE game on. I'll just wait for the PS3 like I was going to do originally.

Also, did you see the Nintendo Revolution's controller??? It looks like a remote! Very weird, but that's Nintendo. I hope it works out well. They can kiss a lot of 3rd party support goodbye, though. At least they are focused on "fun". It might be cool.

Although the tenative release date for PS3 is some time during the spring theres a slight chance it won't be out till 2007. ><

The dev kits were impressive but were overheating like mad according to the developers. Still the PS3 will put the 360 to shame.

On a side note if Sony does plan on a 07 release it would be prime setting for a "flashback" in time. When PS1 came out it didn't really have any major blockbuster games to its name. FF7 helped sell the system to its legendary status, considering that FF7 was slated for N64 release. PS1 effectivly killed off all the previous systems as developers jumped ship to new technology. Now SE is supposedly rumored to have considered re-making FF7 for PS3 because of the massive amounts of NA and JP petitions for a remake after seeing the tech vid. Launching PS3 in 07 with FF7 as a spear head would crush the competition. Besides, Bill Gates was talking about releasing Halo 3 the same day as PS3 launch but Bungie had edited it out of the E3 DVDs and said they can't meet a spring deadline. So why not counter Xbox's biggest franchise with the game that helped build the PS legacy?
