I was looking at other server forums and many of them have a sticky or 2.

Why don't we make one. One huge all encompassing sticky. It can contain linkshells, crafters, guides written by people. etc, etc.

I'd be willing to put it together if anyone else thinks this is a good idea either respond or send me a message.

What would you sticky exactly?
LS's, and memebers?
High level crafters?
what else?

Somehow I think the HNMLSes out there won't want to do this, but it would be nice to know what their set days are to do things.

e.g. - HNMLS 1
Mon and Wed we farm sky
Fri we do dynamis
Sat we fight god/HNM

or something like that. Might help some of the lower players to know which HNMLS might best fit their schedule. Might also help the HNMLS to schedule events that don't conlfict with each other. i.e. - if one group does dynamis-bastok one week, a different group can do dynamis-jeuno or whatever. But God forbid the HNMLSes actually cooperate with each other.

Watch what you say when you don't know what is going on. We are already coordinating Dynamis dates and times set up on the Uhicaclan website. Smiley: tongue

Also it would be hard to list what we do each week because I know for Wasp this changes on a weekly basis. The only thing that remains the same is our times which are usually between 4pm cst- 12am cst.

Fair enough; I don't have first hand experience yet. At least on a perception level, though, all I ever hear about here and elsewhere is the fighting and competition, something I am extremely reluctant to get involved in if it weren't simply for wanting to experience certain areas of the game. It'd be nice to see more civility among players and less open hostility. Of course that extends outside of LSes as well.

Endgame LS's seem to end up like the American Media. No one really comes on here and states the good things that happen because people don't read those, they only come here and state the bad.

On the contrary, if done correctly it'd be very useful, but I wouldn't know how to go about getting it stickied, and it seemes there's little activity on this board lately, so compiling the info would be challenging.

You'd be surprised what people are interested in; not everyone feeds on fear, loathing, and despair. Unfortunately, the media-like perception of human interests you state is the most prevalent, which ultimately only perpetuates everyones' negative percepions of players and LSes. Fortunately, like in real life, there are sources of information available other than these boards/media (although many times those sources re-inforce the message from the boards/media).

Wrip, I think it is a great idea to make a sticky wiht helpful info. However, what info did you plan on useing?

Please note I am poiting these things out, to discuss them, not to discount the idea.

You had 2 suggestions.

LS's

I suppose this is viable.

Crafters.

I will soon go hunt down the Shiva crafters list. However, i beleive the reason that thread is dead and buried, is because ***MOST*** high lvl crafters would rather be left alone, and not get requests to craft something all the time. Especially when said item will make them little to no gil. We had only a few crafters even willing to put their name on the list, and most of them didnt even know what to charge. Although a sticky might bring out some more crafters, willing to craft things for the general populace, I am afraid it would be exactly the same, and most crafters would opt to avoid it. We could of course try.

We also had a Shiva's Classified thread. Where people could request things they wanted. It also died rather quickly, because no one used it.

Then we could do guides people from our server have written. The problem with that is you can find those guides in their prospective forums (crafting, armor, quests ect).

We could make one just to have fun, but the admins arent so up for makeing stickies for those types of things.

So if you had an idea of what to place in the sticky, that would be beneficial to everyone, and that at least some people would use, please share with us :)
