But it's also not 10mil or so I 'make' per run. Because I don't 'make' that, I save it. I save it off the enormous price tag that is the relic weapon. I made the rule myself that you cannot sell the currency, and I will hold to that, even when I've had LS mates of mine tell me it's ok to sell the currency. I'm not doing this for profit, I'm doing this to finish the hardest quest in the game. I'm also the main puller, and the only people who die more often than me are unlucky blm's. I'm normally the only thf in Dynamis, too, so I do all of the sac pulls. I put my blood into this as well. You make this sound like I'm selfish and manipulating people, but I've informed them of everything and the vast majority of them have cheered me on with this.

Not everyone can afford to put 2mil out a week. And if you cannot do that, what is the point in sponsoring? Acquiring a couple hundred bills every month or two will get you nothing for years and years. If one person can afford to throw out 2mil a week, then they will complete the upgrade and get their refund back and there will be more currency in the system. Then things will move on to the next person capable of affording the quest. I offered to let someone else in my LS be the main sponsor, because he's a pld and I feel the Excalibur would be more helpful to the LS. But he declined, saying that he cannot afford to spend 2mil a week. The only other people serious about upgrading want to just every once in a while, they cannot afford to do this completely. Which is, imo, innefficient because of the length of time it takes 1 person getting all the currency and buying some to complete it.

And if you looked at the other servers, it isn't uncommon to do this, and how pretty much every single relic weapon in existance currently exists. Also, Refe sponsors his Dynamis LS and as far as I know, sells it all for profit. But he always has a lot of people there. At least I'm trying to complete this quest.

Edit: And yeah Calvern, I ran my parse with Hatpop in it. With the brd he was an amazing 38 dmg more than me per fight, with the smn in the brds place I was 32 dmg more a fight over him. But part of the reason I'm capable of the dmg I am is because of my dagger selection. Since daggers are so weak it's a very important aspect of the class.

I agree and even have friends that do dynamis with them. I was asking for clarification and got it. I apreciate that they answered back. They have accurately stated what they are offering well. As for the incredible unfairness of the work to reward ratio they are offering, I am only pointing this out too let poeple who might not know better that this is not typical. I hope this is the beginning of a new trend. I would feel sorry for all the unfortunate new high levels that are not connected with the royalty.

I thank you for being staright with your info and answers to my questions and comments. There are basic economic priciples at work here and no justification you can come up with will change the value of the currency or the work vs. reward ratio. I also disagree with the notion that a person is less deserving of a fair share because of what the may do with it. Again these are justifications used to further yourself along your quest. You have designated yourself as the the one who most deserves what you want. If people will make this possible for you, you have have done what you set out to do and congratulations. I hope this doesnt start a trend isnt and that this is the direction Shiva is going with dynamis. Best of luck. I am done with this topic. All my questions are answered.

Now you're getting insulting.

What riches am I getting from this? Oh, you mean spending over 2mil a week every week? What riches.

This isn't making profit, this is just avoiding inflation.

Peregrine has Excalibur on our server. When I went to /check it out, he was a shellholder to an LS. Hmm, I wonder how he got that weapon. Do you honestly feel it'd be more useful if we let the 5 or so somewhat interested in upgrading people split currency every Dynamis? It'd be nearly 3 years before a relic 5 existed, and that's with a good amount of buying currency from others.

I've never seen Dynamis as a place to make gil, before or after I began my upgrade quest. It's a huge team game, so why not team up and get someone their weapon? I'll be in debted to the LS for the rest of my game life, and we'll be able to get another weapon probably faster than most other LS's of our age. I'll take 1 stage 5 over 6 stage 3's any day.

Also, I'm not "the one most deserving". I'm the one most willing to embark on this quest within my LS. Read my earlier post, I offered this to a pld because I thought he was more deserving. He declined, because he's not willing to complete the quest at this time.

This is great info. You have crystalized your mission and would even suggest to ppl that want AF2 and dynamis wins that this is a convienient way to do it. Without your last post it is easy to draw a conclusion and and decide that something is not on the up and up. After you let us know that your "open dynamis" is a "You are welcome to tag along with us for AF2 and wins" sort of deal it doesnt seem so bad. This is perfect now tho. Good luck and take care of my boy Durnik in Jueno. This will be his first.

Maybe with the upcoming changes to Dynamis drops a relic weapon my seem possible to me, like a 400 million costs rather then a 800 million. Ha, I can dare to dream can't I. Or maybe the rumors are true that the Dynamis Lord drops a 10,000 Byne bill, even so, this really wasn't the greatest idea SE came up with. I can understand the logic behind it, but, I think they went just a tad bit overboard. Oh well only time will tell I guess, we've gotten the Dynamis Lord to 35% >_< getting close. Stuipd Oblivian Smash...

LoH, this fellow is trying to get you going on purpose. Just ignore him, he's being an ***.

Your system of saving the currency is very common. Really, only the linkshells that ask their members to pitch in for runs let the currency auto-lot.

Most sponsored runs have the sponsor collect the currency or the linkshell collect and sell to members at a discount.

I saw that guy, Hatpop. I was impressed that he had a fully upgraded Relic Gun, but to hear that it isn't all that...sucks. That's a lotta time and effort that goes into that. I do think that SE shouldn't make it such a nearly impossible quest, but I don't think they want just anyone walking around with upgraded relic weapons.

Sireagle, you upgrading Dagger? So you telling me that E.Bow would outdmg Relic Gun? 900 DMG WS sucks *** for a Relic.
All Relic Weapons should come with the spell: EnPwn.

I should make another topic about it, and I have some screenshots and parses saved showing these things.

But the only real usefulness of the relic gun is the ws, which is quite useful, although not amazing damage. He was hitting 8-900 dmg with Coronach on weapons with bard. However, it generates basically no hate. Acepod was our tank, he'd voke once and even without a ws would keep hate off of Coronach. Maybe Hatpop is stupid and just doesn't have the right gear, I'm not quite sure. He had both rng axes, osode, cassie, etc. and was using attack food. He'd only slug for 1200ish in most cases. But he couldn't slug often because then he'd be tanking, so Coronach fixes that "problem" for rng's. But I see that as quite useful on HNM's, to be able to make a 2nd level 3 sc without worrying about a spike flail. But I don't think that's worth it, really...

Oo?
oO;

OMG...Corn..leave LoH alone. You don't need currency anyways. No Dynamis LS is gonna go waste time going after attestation for a single staff/club upgrade - FFXI service will terminate before that - cuz butch jobs with butch weapons get priority.

To be honest, LoH is from YC and this is essentially a YC event. If you are guesting, play by their rules :) If you do not agree, there's like a ton of Dynamis LSs out there now.

If you want currency for gils, just put "Big Money" with the good ol' red pearl and hope that you don't end up with a WHM lot.

Dice Roll! Uchipu rolls 12.

Think about it this way.

Anybody going to YC dynamis that is not in YC, is helping YC help one of its members attain a goal. In return, they will try to get you, your AF2. (I mean, LoH...you do have TH3, right...? j/k j/k I don't care if you do or dont)

It's actually much like when you were lowbie, and had a higher level person help you with something. In exchange for their fire power, and time, you passed on everything that was dropped by everything that was killed on the way. (...at least I did...but lowbies these days freely lot Oo)

See, it's not that hard if you think about it that way.

That's something that pisses me off too. I remember passing on stuff, or at least not lotting when others did. OH! Is that a gold beastcoin that dropped while hunting for my Beaudeux coffer key? Yes it is, but I guess that high level dude can lot it, I just hope my key drops soon.

Now when I help others, those little vultures attack every single damn drop. "OMFG a Beastmen's Seal! I need those so I can do BCNM and get gil!".

Yeah, you and every other person in the alliance you ******.

What's even worse is when they tell everybody to pass on EVERYTHING, not just the keys. Because we're there to help them, regardless of what drops, it's theirs.

Now with Dynamis, I see can see how it works differently. Somebody like SES/LoH busts out the gil, buys the Hourglass, and takes all the currency, and in exchange for the help, let's all the ppl lot on the AF2 as per the preset rules. It's a give/give situation. You offer me your help to get currency and win this thing, I get you the pretty new armors.

Bah, I'd rather stick to my +1k Sidewinders. Reraise Gorgets are much cheaper than a damn Relic Gun lol.

Off topic, but I'm lvling THF too. Is THF Relic Dagger worth it? Well, that's kinda hard to answer. I guess it's up to the person. But it shows dedication.

THF's weakest point is their daggers. Need to have the best daggers you can to be the best you can be. Mandau is that.

Back to the topic at hand. We had a wonderful Dynamis-Jeuno run last night. Brd, whm, nin, mnk and 2-3 war af2 drops as well as 2 big money. We cleared all mobs that spawn before Mega (cleared embassies a couple times, palace x2, AH, etc.) with 36 people. We can work on full clears of all the cities with more people :)

I know, I know Uchipu. I have since chatted with LoH and apologized for being so rough in my posts I had a simple question and I took it too far. I still disagree on the idea that something hasn less value because you aren't selling it, but w/e. That is great that LoH has a LS that is working to help its members attain some of the rarest items in this game. YellowCake will certainly become legendary if they succeed. I wish her the best of luck. They are offering a great way to get some really nice gear. Best of luck to LoH and YC.

Edited for spelling. Like most of my posts. AAARG!

mr. holio let me just shed my 2 cents on the topic...

theres always two sides...
not necessarily to the story its the same story its just on which way you hold the book? =/ i dunno but i feel you just look on your take on things. look at it like the guy who works at any business on the face of the planet. you get a job...go in, do your work, go home and dont complain when your checks come. when the delivery guy finds out how much the owner is making or the secretary finds out how much the boss takes home then you start to have problems.
you werent complaining about 20 bucks an hour before you knew your boss was making 200 and you do all his work. what you are faced with is your decision...you can suck it up and realize the things hes done to be in the position hes at or you quit and make your own business. either one is justifiable depending on your situation.

i for one do not think the masses who most times dont know their @ss from their elbow that show up late, dont pay attention, ask the same question that was answered 5 sec ago, mpk the whole dynamis b/c "i was trying to find you guys!?!" deserve even remotely a scrap other than the AF that they are there to get.

you have to understand that most of these new dynamises are headed by ppl that felt the same way you do coming out of bigger dynamis and did exactly what the others before them did: capitalize on desire for newer players or smaller ls who dont have the ability to get AF on their own. if you knew the time and effort in planning and essentially babysitting 40-60 ppl for 3-4 hrs you would understand the reason why ppl like to attend other dynamis instead of starting their own.

bottomline if you dont like it dont go. i would love to see how long a dynamis lasts where 1 or even a group of ppl do all the REAL work, freely distribute between all attending members currency. i dont know how long i could sit back seeing 2-500 ancient currency being chopped up between dozens of noobs who really have no desire to upgrade weapons, only turn a buck.

im gonna join in this post just to get rated down by some random troll :)

#1 if you dont like a dynamis rules dont go
#2 if you dont go then dont talk about it because its not your problem
#3 find a new one or make your own
#4 dont ever do dynamis

if LoH wants to upgrade his weapons then thats what his Dynamis is gonna do. its only like refe doing it kinda. Refe puts up the money and lots all the drops (money). The ppl there lot the AF2 they choose.

its basically the same thing. When LoH is done with his weapon then someone else will get there turn at it who is at the centre of the Dynamis goings on. etc. those who put in the most effort kinda should get first chance at the relic weapon.

its like me saying "let me join" i do nothing in the dynamis apart from nuke thie **** out of things. while someone else supervises the pulls and plans the battle etc.

(if anything i said made no sense to anything else above note i skipped most of it as it was boring and it was really late... >.>)

peace everyone.

It's actually not 'kinda' like Refe. Refe sells all of his currency and uses that Dynamis LS to make profit. The currency in our Dynamis is being used directly to complete relic weapons.

It is kinda like Refe in that one person sponsors the run and lots all of the currency, while everyone else gets AF2 and bazillions of Infinity Cores. That's all Xellith was saying, and he's absolutely correct. Don't read too much into it.
