Australians love sports, and there is a wide variety of codes, primarily AFL (Australian Footbal League, aka footy), ARL (Australian Rugby League, aka league) or real mans rugby, Rugby Union, a more inernational game.

We also have a big soccer following too.

AFL has the tall skinny blokes stepping on each others back, rugby's two codes (league and union) have the big bulky blokes crashing into each other, and soccer has the brazilians pretending to be hurt.

Hope that helps reduce the confusion a bit :P

I only watch NFL football. Don't really like basketball or baseball much. I like baseball a lot more than basket ball.

My favorite football team is CIN Bengals. They rock! (8-3 as of today ^^).
Baseball team would be CIN Reds. They suck, but I live close to Cincinatti so......lol

Yup...that's about it...lol

I played Rugby in college, i hated my hockey coach so i quit and joined the rugby team cause I have to hit someone at least once a week. OMG it was so much fun! The drink ups after the game were best part.

We always used to watch the All Blacks all the time. my friend used to tape the games and we would watch them. The All blacks rock! I haven't really followed rugby much lately. The American team (eagles) isn't very good and its hard to find any teams playing on TV durring normal hours. every once and a while i'll see a USA Vs Canada match on TV. every thing else is usually pay per view and on at like 4 AM.

Correct me if i'm wrong but the difference between union and league is: League is like 7's with 3 backs and 3 fowards and a scrum half (Lots of running and kicking) While Union is full 15 per team with 7 backs, 7 fowards, and a srum half. Full scrum downs and rucks and everything. Union is the real game while league is kinda of like an offshoot. Right?

I am not entirely 100% sure on all the rules, but the main difference I have found is the points allocated to tries vs kicks and that Union has unlimited tackles, whereas if your team is tackled 6 consecutive times in league, you have to turn the ball over.

The All Blacks are such an awesome team, they just plain look cool.

And the Haka is awesome. That tribal dance they do at the start. Kinda frightening too :p
