I'm still trying to find a way to connect to FFXI outside of my dorm room (don't ask why). I hooked up through ethernet to an unfirewalled connection, and everything is working that normally doesn't (the school wireless has a firewall on it that blocks anything besides one window of internet explorer. Its kind of stupid actually...) So, I'm able to run things like AIM and Battlefield 2 now, which I'm normally not able to. However, FFXI still won't connect. Server down?
I'm not sure if the school actually has a firewall. Some people can connect to anything via wireless, while some can only connect how I am. Perhaps its a setting I've missed?
can you get into POL even?
I can run the Playonline Program. I can't even sign in, because it won't recognize a connection.
my younger brother is away at college and had the same problem. has someting to do with the schools network. dont ask me what cause im not an internet guru. my specialty was satellite comms =\
