Last night during Dynamis - X, Assassin's Armlets dropped. There were no thief mains available to lot them. In other words, had I not moved on campus I'd be 5/5 Thief AF2.
Naturally at first, I was quite pissed off. I was like "Why the hell does FFXI make you choose between real life or the game world? Why does this **** always happen?". Then I understood everything.
The reason why **** happens to us is because it makes the game more interesting. It's the same thing about life. If there was no sickness, death, poverty and want, their would be no flavor to life. If everything was accomplished easily, there would be no point to accomplishing anything.
So it made me understand why thief AF2 dropped when I couldn't be there to lot it. It's because it gives me something to talk about, something to strive for.
I realized from that instance that you don't have to pick between real life or FFXI. You have to pick real life. It doesn't matter how many **** holes FFXI throws at you for doing it. What does matter however is once you get on the other side of these holes. After you've shifted through acres of **** to get to your goal, you love it alot more.
So instead of getting super pissed off at FFXI and finding thousands of ways to get around the firewall, I'm going to wait until the weekends come around to play again. Whatever challenges and misfortunes I may face all become worth it once I obtain my goal. I realize that now.
