#1 Oct 05 2006 at 2:36 PM Rating: Decent
Hello ppl, i have a huge problem.
Since last week i use a Router from Sitecom: Sitecom DC-202v6
It taked me a very long time to find out how to get acces on internet with it and now everything works fine exept one thing:

When i login in FFXI i can stay online for maximal 5 minutes and then the game kick me...
It says that something if wrong with the cable config.
I have tryed allot of thing for allot of days but it stays like this :(

If anyone have the same router and can send me a few screenshots or send me an explanation about how to set the router up for FFXI, please post it here or send it to my email: Storm_Ivan_07_01_1986@hotmail.com

If you wanna explain it with msn messenger you can also add me on the same email address.
I can send then some screenshots from how i set it all up on the Router so maybe someone can tell me what to do if they see what i did.

If you know how to read and understand Dutch, please visit this link.
I have posted here a message about this all with a huge explanation about it.
Wished i know how to translate it all to English but cant do that.:

FFXI is very picky about needing ALL the ports open. If your router closes off ports, FFXI may not work.

One solution is to set up what is known as a DMZ or "de-militarized zone". It basically lets you disable all firewall settings for certain applications. You'll have to follow the instruction in your router's manual to figure out how to set it up, as each brand of router is different.

The Router still dont work -_-
I have posted a huge message to Playonline and 2 friends ingame Ripco and Sekageka.
The idea i have now, i will post my computer system info, internet info and Router info here.
Maybe there is someone that know what i did wrong and have time to find it out and help me.
If you wanna help, thx :)

The info under here is original a post that i sended to playonline.
I copied the text to Sekageka en Ripco.
Under the system info you find the part: 'Inquiry Details'.
That is where the message begins, where i explain the problem and show how i did set up my router in all parts from it.

Inquiry Details:

Can You please tell me how to instal the Router Sitecom DC-202v6 so the game accept me and dont kick me every 3-5 minutes?

Info about what i did on the Router Sitecom DC-202v6 to get acces to FFXI and the internet ofcourse:
(Image from my Router: http://img.clubic.com/photo/00122149.jpg)

Router site>firewall>Spec. App.:
Trigger port: 50000 - 65535
Trigger Type: BOTH
Public Port: 50000 - 65535
Public Type: BOTH
Enable: yes

Router site>firewall>Virt. Serv.:
Private IP: 192.168.0.2
Private Port: 50000 - 65535
Type: BOTH
Public Port: 50000 - 65535
Enable: yes

Firewall: Disabled

Playonline Error code:
POL-0207

This is what happen all the time:
When I log in the game i can stay online for max. 5 minutes, then the game Disconnect.
What happen on screen:
The connection information you see ingame (right/uppper corner) shows this for example:
100% S320 R320:
97% S320 R210
86% S320 R100
51% S210 R0
39% S100 R0
0% S32 R0
Then i will be kicked.

Tryed to find it out myself by:
-reading the manual of the router, -searching at playonline.com for info,
-called the helpdesk of Sitecom,
-posted on allakhazam.com a few posts, -posted on helpmij.nl a huge post, -searched info on internet how other people did this with my router version
etc...
But nothing worked yet.

Maybe this info will help to tell me where to change things for FFXI:

Same thing happend to me when i bought my new wireless router a couple years ago. When i first bought the game, the internet connection would kick me off during the long CS when you create a new character. Call the router company and let them know you internet connection keeps cutting off. I don't remember what he made me do, but somehow my router wasn't bridge or something. Never had any problem since then. hope that helps
