Hello everyone, new player here. Just started and have been slowly leveling each of the 6 starter jobs to 10, and was wondering if there is any Linkshell's out there accepting new players. My schedual is kinda random due to work, but im having a ton of fun so far!

Ichiban is always looking for new people. We take in players new and old and have a grand time.
Hit me up in-game on Jayboogie or I'm sure you could hit up Shusio, Rhyaa, Meeqwae, or Alaha and someone can get you a pearl. We have so many pearl holders it's not even funny.
In before gruntys....and all that jazz.

Welcome to Shiva and the game. It sounds like you're initially interested in either Black, Red or White Mage. Whichever *main* job you think you're interested in leveling right now will need a subjob at level 18. If you are leveling White Mage for example; then at 18 you could choose black mage (more common) or even red mage for subjob.
It's what you feel you'll like the most. Do you like being more of a "healer"? Helping people with cures, removing status effects etc? Then you will shine with White Mage. Do you like *nuking* stuff? Black Mages can be very powerful.
I started leveling Red Mage. It gave me an idea of being able to do a little of each of those three and Red Mage is an awesome job; eventually being able to support parties non-stop with endless MP once they get convert...among many many more beneficial attributes.
At level 30 you can choose advanced jobs; of which there are several. This site has great info on all types of jobs, quests, missions etc.
All in all - just have fun; experiment and see which ones you like the best and have the most fun with!

Well, I havnt really decided what I prefer. Ive got thief, warrior, monk to 10, white mage to 6, and working on getting white, red, and black to 10. I figure that way once i hit 18, ill have something available thats already at max sub level for a little while.
I guess a better question would be, out of the basic 6 jobs, what are people really looking for? I enjoy playing all roles, so it doesnt really matter to me.
