As a warrior, I use a gun as a ranged weapon solely to pull mobs away from other mobs instead of just charging them and risking adds. This form of pulling really sux, but its all Ive got. Non-hunters do not get the autoshot for their ranged attacks (the closest thing is castors with their wands), and so i can only get one or two shots off before the mob is ready for the bussiness end of my whirlwind axe.
As for getting bags at lowby areas, your best bet is to entice the leveling tailor with free chances to level his skill, you provide the mats, he provides the bags. Ofcourse with any crafting prof, a tip is almost always customary, especially if the crafter was forced to find you or take time off from doing his own thing. Luckily the best way to tip a crafter is with free mats, so just give him extra stuff and he's bound to be happy crafting for you. After all if you paid him in gold, he'd be most likely to just spend it all on more mats, especially if he's leveling his skill.
Another option for getting bags, is to join a casual guild where you will not be reqiured to raid, which would be a good thing since you're much too little to raid anyway. Any good guild will provide many ammenities for their beginning guildmates including talbard, runecloth bags (if available, else lower quality bags), mounts upon reaching 40 and 60, mats for leveling your own crafts, and free gear and enchants. Worst case scenario is that you'll be asked for mats from whoever is crafting the item, which is fine considering that more hardcore guilds often require mats and gold as guild dues.
My pally is an artisan tailor, and since I don't have many clothie toons, he mostly makes bags, and so my bank alt is packed with a sick ammount of bags of varying sizes. When I get a chance, and get off my lazy ***** I intend to take all these bags and offer them to starting toons in Northshire abby. There's a chance that you'll run across someone who finds greater value in giving away these bags than trying to sell them on the AH.
Another great source for bags, especially if you have a gold to spare on a recipe, go to the AH and look for bags, chances are you can find a few that sell for a descent price, and since I've never been able to sell them on the AH, whatever there is there, you'll more than likely be able to win a bid for some sickly low ammounts of cash.
