Beginning Enchanter looking for helpFollow

I just started enchanting, its at lvl 3 I think. I just came to WoW from FFXI and still getting used to things. Can someone explain to me how to enchant gear that someone else is wearing...do they have to give it to you and you give it back when done, or what? Thanks for the help in advance.

what you do is ask them to put it in the bottom slot of the trade window.. you know that square labled "not to be traded" or whatever? ever wonder what it was for? its for stuff like enchanting.. the guy puts it there and you can cast the enchantment directly on it.. you wont cast it immediately though, but rather, when the trade is completed.. this way you can earn money or get items in exchange for your enchants or whatever..

you get skillups for enchanting via disenchanting items through level 90 if I remember correctly. I would get to at least 50 via disenchanting before starting to enchant items.

Also, I would recommend levelling tailoring to go with the enchanting... it allows me to make green items that I can use to level tailoring, then disenchant for skill-ups or enchanting components. This has worked nicely for me through 120 Tailoring and 91 Enchanting, since I like killing Humanoids anyways.

Of course, if you have a guild feeding you greens to disenchant, then its not really necessary and you can take a gathering profession like skinning or mining for money.

Enchanting keeps me poor because I can't sell greens for money :(
