Finding hides.Follow

So I'm doing some quests on my NE Rogue in Darkshore, and I after coming back from the Leathercraft trainer, I wanted to make this +4 AGI tunic.

The problem is, the recipe calls for 3 light hides, of which I can rarely find when farming/leveling.

My question is, do they only start showing up as I progress in skinning? Or does it just depend on the mob I'm skinning?

If it's the former, how can I tell which targets to look for?

Thanks for any advice in advance.

Well your in Darkshore, so just head to Ashenvale. I have gotten a few hides off of Stags and Bears there. This is a great area anyway for skinners because just about everything is skinnable there. Focus on the bears, wolves and stags and you should get a few hides. Don't worry if it takes a while. They seem to come in spurts. I can go down there for an hour and get 5 to 8 hides easy. Also if I may suggest, always carry salt on you. Inventory space is vital to gathering professions so you can save space by creating the cured hides (both light and medium)and stacking them.

If Ashenvale doesn't seem to be paying off or is too boring, you can alway grab a gryph and hit the Wetlands. Crocs and Raptors both are good for skins and hides too. Personally, I love the way Ashenvale looks, and don't mind farming there at all.

Good luck! :-)

You seem to get more hide drops off furry animals. Aim for those if you can.

If you are carrying around salt doesnt that just use up one more space in your inventory? Light and medium hides stack regardless of whether or not they are cured, plus if you cure them you have to have enough room to pick up the uncured one so that you can cure it. So it would make a lot more sense to not cure them until you get back to town.

Just sayin......

Actually uncured hides will only stack in 5's, cured Hides will stack up to 10. It will take more inventory to start but if you're out skinning for a long period of time you'll save some slots (salt also stacks in 20). Though you might not want to cure all of them, some patterns require uncured hide.
