I'm a lvl 30 warrior on gorefiend and i have lvl 210 blacksmithing.. I talked to a few of my higher lvl friends and they told me that my professions were too high for the areas I would need to mine now. I was just wondering if there are any really good places that a lvl 30 warrior can mine things like gold and mithril? I would just do steel but the recipies i have take a ton of it + other items.. mithril seems like the best way to go.. and if i can find it gold works as well. So if anybody can tell me if there are any places a lvl 30 can solo and get a decent amount of mithril please do. Thanks for any help given.

I saw several Mithril Deposits in the Charred Valle area of Stonetalon Mountains. Unfortunately I was looking for Iron at the time and can't mine Mithril yet :( Oh well I know where I'll be heading when I can. Hope that helps.

I'd say level up. You'll have a hard time finding mithril safely at your level. I rarely see it, and I've just hit 40. I've yet to see a gold mine either. Level up a bit, you're sittin pretty for now.

I just hit 200 Engineering and 160 mining, and I see Gold in the Charred Vale every now and then. I've seen 3 or 4 veins there in different places at different times. Also, you can find Mithril there too.

Really, as long as you're not dying every 5 min just to mine, I think you should keep on going. I'm a 30 Hunter and I fare pretty well in the areas of my level taking on 3 or 4 mobs at a time just getting one Iron Deposit, lol. Also, if push comes to shove, just buy the stuff you need off the Auction House. I bought 40 Heavy Stone and 20 Solid Stone off the AH last night fir fairly cheap, and 15 Gold Ore for 85S, and got my Engineering skill 30 points up for 2G. Of course, 20 minutes later I hit lv. 30 and couldn't afford my skills, but that's a small price to pay ...

Hope all goes well for you.

Nah, yer good. My lvl 13 troll rogue is at a bit over 140 for both engineering AND mining. I'm having like 0 problems, and you are more than double my lvl. No prob.

As a level 37 Paladin, my mining skill (215ish) and Blacksmithing (220ish) seem to stay very balanced. The only frustrating thing is coming across trusilver and not being able to mine it until level 230.

I made levels 34-37 grinding and questing the ruins of Alterac (grouped) and the surrounding snowscapes (solo). Had no problem finding veins of mithril and iron, sometimes with a vein of gold added to spice things up.

Now I am anxiously awaiting level 40 so I can declare for my mastersmithing skill. Of course, getting my warhorse will mean it is quicker to find those veins of minerals. Am currently questing and grinding in desolace, and plan on basing in Nijel's Point for several days.

Keep on doing what you like. One thing, though, If you group alot, ask your friends if they mind you mining as much as you do.

Well apart from the fact that to go to artisan blacksmithing (225-300) you HAVE to be level 35 first =P

but as ppl have stated at your level go to the charred vale, just north of desolace. it has level 24-27 mobs (harpies for cloth + gold, elementals for elemental fire and also solid chests for some good loot) and the mining in here is;

(these are based on hours spent in the charred vale, no stats involved)
copper: rare
tin: rare
iron: common
mithril: common
silver: rare
gold: rare
truesilver: VERY rare (i have gotten 3 points in total from this area)

so as was stated i would say hit the charred vale if you are looking to grind out your levels, otherwise in desolace underwater in the north west is a naga area, there is 5 spawns underwater that are nearly always mithril, but sometimes iron or gold.

hope this helps :)
