Where's good for getting pet schematics?Follow

I wanna make like the squirrel or something else, but I have no real clue where ta find the schematics. Any assists? I have around 140 engineering, and am lvl 13, and am horde. I've been hanging out in the barrens recently. I have found several plans and patterns, but not a schematic to be found. It's mildly annoying, even. Also, I horde my cash like nothing else. I buy all my skills and stuff, but I refuse to buy any items, really, so the AH is out, as are venders. I only have about 9 gold so far, so I am still saving.

Yours,
Khay

I don’t think there really is a good spot for finding a specific schematic drop. When I was playing in the stress tests and open beta, I found three copies of the mechanical squirrel schematic in Westfall. I’ve taken about six characters through Westfall since the game came out and I’ve not had a single squirrel schematic drop. I expect the loot tables are extremely random when it comes to items like that. They are more likely level oriented than mob oriented. So unless you’re just very lucky you’re most likely going to have to buy the plans.

As for saving gold, my suggestion is, in general, don’t bother. Well, depending on what you are saving for. If you are saving for a specific piece of equipment or something else you need in the near future then go for it. But if you’re saving for your level forty mount you’re only hurting yourself. Leveling will be a lot easier and a lot more fun if you spend the money to keep up with skills and your equipment. And spending money on something fun from time to time, such as the mechanical squirrel schematics, is worth doing as well as it will allow you to enjoy the game more. I wouldn’t suggest saving for a mount until your mid thirties. Money comes in a lot faster then. The gold piece that took you a day or so to save at low levels, at the possible expense of better gear, you can save in an hour or so of standard looting. It’s good to have goals in game, but don’t lessen your enjoyment in the process.
