Hello All,
I have a few questions for those of you who have experience in herbalism they are:

• Currently at 90 skill where is a good spot to be working my herbalism skill on the Horde side? (I have been looking through out Barrens and it is tough going)
• I have been saving a lot of my herbs and my bank box is getting too full so I was wondering what some pricing is for the following herbs:

Peacebloom
Mageroyal
Silverleaf
Briarthorn

I am on Spirestone and while some of you or perhaps all of you who post a reply may not be on my server I would just like a general idea of what to set prices at since I have haven’t sold many stacks before. Do you have a set buy out for each type of herb that sort of thing?

Thanks in advance for the help and the replies,

Jeremiah

I found early-game herbs impossible to sell at a profit. They are only interesting to characters which have more money than time, which I think is rare among low level characters unless they are being funded by higher-level characters. Higher level alchemy doesn't make use of those herbs so you have no market there.

If you do try to sell at the AH try to place initial prices fairly low to attract bidders but also place a reasonable buyout price for those who may have more money than patience ;-)

You forgot to mention that you probably have a fair amount of Swiftthistle on you by now. Swiftthistle isn't wildly profitable, but Rogues (who are rarely alchemists) have needs for it, so you can get small amounts on money from it. (25 to 50 silver for stacks of 10.)

If you're looking to make money off of Herbalism, one word: Fadeleaf. I play on a PvP server and can make 2g for stacks of 10 whenever I hit up the Auction House. Rogues have an insatiable demand for the stuff, and it's used in a few potions also. The problem is that you won't be able to start picking Fadeleaf until you're in your 30s.

Like Morty said, the low-level herbs just aren't profitable. As with all professions, Herbalism doesn't provide a solid return on investment until you get to the higher levels.

go to your AH and see what people are setting the buy price for. since price fluctuates from day to day or week to week, you may need to try a few prices and see what you're willing to sell at (i generally like to sell my herbs within 24 hours..i dont like to see it returned).

eg on my server, stack of swiftthistle is easily 4g, i can sell prett quickly. if i put at 5 or 6 g, i tend to still sell it but almost near the end of the 24 hours. swift is one of those herbs that probably someone will buy bc there is so small quantity of it.

for more common herbs like peace and silver, prices on my server fluctuate between 15-30s. 15s is a guaranteed sale, 30s may be returned a few times before someone buys it. so choose a medium, like 20-25s.

there are some herbs that still will sell in groups or 5 or 10, so if your main goal is just ot sell them, you could try those in smaller lots already.
