Any special things? What do you mean exactly? I ain't an enchanter, but I think you can't disenchant white items or lower, only greens and up.

You can disenchant any Uncommon (green) or better item. You will be able to make these items soon enough with tailoring, just not at the lowest level.

Just to add to what's already been said-

Disenchanting only works on Green, Blue and (god forbid) purple items.

Tailoring is a good profession for an enchanter because it lets you craft these green items with drops (linen, wool, silk, etc)

Your first green item is at skill 30 - the robes. Yes, this does mean you can't really make anything disenchatable for a while. Just expect to work your tailoring before you start enchanting.

We have disenchated plenty of Shaman Epic set items, in out Alliance raids, and they rock, 3 shards form one item, not bad for a item Nobody can use.

Yes, those are the items you can break. You need to use the disenchant skill which you will find on the ability tab of your spellbook.

yeah but you can use that health enchant you 1st get that uses 1 strange dust to lvl up to 90 in enchanting or so before it goes poof. also dont get in the habit of getting an enchanting point for nuking an item it petters out quick.

to help ya out.. once ya hit 225 for both horde and alliance you have to venture into badlands and into the uldaman instance and fight your way down to the enchanting trainer there to raise your final cap. and sigh, keep going back. she only trains ya to skill lvl 250 after that its all drops and venor from then on. Im 300 enchanting on lothar alliance and i have yet to get any high end enchants like lifestealing .. best i got is icy chill. so dont let anyone tell you you need the really high end enchants to get to 300.

yes you can, any green item, even the ones that do not give you any bonuses can be disenchanted. I have Tailoring/Enchanting, one problem that i ran into is not getting enough Greater Magic Essesces from my tailored stuff. Found it that you get them from weapons at a better rate than armor, which really cuts down on your money making.
